Disney World CHANGES How You Ride Rise of the Resistance During Jollywood Nights

Rise of the Resistance is one of the most popular rides in Disney World…and that stays true for special events!

We’re at the very first night of Jollywood Nights which is a new holiday event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. There are several attractions open during the event including Rise of the Resistance. However, Disney World has changed how you ride for the party — let’s talk about it.

It’s been a while since Rise of the Resistance has used a Virtual Queue system (since 2021, to be precise) but Disney is bringing it back for Jollywood Nights. During regular park hours, the ride uses a standby line and is available for purchase as an Individual Lightning Lane.

The Virtual Queue will work as usual — head to the My Disney Experience app, click on the three lines in the bottom right corner and click the Virtual Queue box. There, you’ll see an option to join the Rise of the Resistance queue.

NOTE: There is no standby line option for Jollywood Nights. If you want to ride, you must join the Virtual Queue.

The Virtual Queue for the party opens at 8PM. There is a note at the top that says, “At 8:00PM, pull-to-refresh to tap the “Refresh” button below. Then, tap the “Join Queue” button as soon as it appears.”

Make sure that everyone in your party is linked on the app way before you try to grab a group!

We refreshed right at 8PM and scored Group 19. Our group was called at 8:45PM!
