Disney World is home to two water parks — Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.

For the past few years, however, only one water park has been kept open at a time. While one is open, the other occasionally gets some TLC. Typhoon Lagoon has been open this year, and we finally have a date for when Blizzard Beach will reopen!
Disney has announced that Blizzard Beach will reopen in Disney World on November 6th.

Typhoon Lagoon stopped showing hours on the Disney World website as of November 6th, 2023 and it was later updated with a notice of its closure on November 5th.

Disney does keep a water park open year-round, but during the winter, it is common for them to close if daily temperatures are too low.

When Blizzard Beach reopens there will be some new food to try! This includes the S’mores Churros and Banana Split Churros at Arctic Expedition and Honey Sriracha Chicken Wings and Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings at Warming Hut.

Don’t know much about Blizzard Beach? It’s one of Disney World’s water parks with over 17 slides, an area for pre-teens, a special area for little ones, and more. The whole park is designed to look like a ski resort turned water park!

I hope both parks will be open at the same time in the future. Eliminating this alternating schedule would be the last thing Disney is likely to accomplish to return to pre-pandemic normalcy.
