These Are the BEST Foods at Disney World’s NEWEST Restaurants – Prove Us Wrong!

There are a lot of new restaurants in the works in Disney World right now.

Quincy at Roundup Rodeo

The Cake Bake Shop on Disney’s BoardWalk, Summer House on the Lake in Disney Springs, will be open before we know it, and Shiki Sai: Sushi Izakaya in EPCOT just opened! With all of the excitement over these new dining locations, it’s easy to forget how many new restaurants we already got this year! From rootin’ tootin’ barbecue to Mexican flavors, we tried some delicious new eats recently, and today we’re rounding up the best.

Roundup Rodeo BBQ

Roundup Rodeo BBQ opened up in Disney’s Hollywood Studios‘ Toy Story Land in March 2023.

The theming here is SO good

This barbecue joint is full to the brim with Toy Story theming — you’ll feel like you’re a toy right in Andy’s backyard! The food here was pretty solid if you like barbecue, and we enjoyed much of it. But our favorite items were the sides! The Prospector’s Homemade Cheddar Biscuits with Sweet Pepper Jelly were the perfect balance of bread and cheese.

We also loved the Force Field Fried Pickles. These pickle spears were fried in a dill-forward batter that really made them pop and they were some of the best fried pickles we’ve ever had!

Overall, this spot has some great theming, and while the barbecue itself is pretty basic, it’s still a fun spot to try with some standout side options and killer theming. You can see lots more about our visit to Roundup Rodeo BBQ by watching the video right here.

Rosa Mexicano

Over at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort, we got another new restaurant in March — Rosa Mexicano.

Rosa Mexicano

This restaurant by founding chef Josefina Howard honors Mexican heritage in every dish, and we thought the food was full of flavor. We particularly loved the Roasted Chicken Suizas, which are enchiladas with Tomatillo Salsa Verde, Chihuahua Cheese, Crema, Cilantro, and Onion.

Chicken Suizas

The salsa verde has a tangy, robust flavor with a bit of a kick, and the whole thing was so fresh and bright! The chicken was tender and the tortillas were deliciously soft. Combined with the cheese and crema, this dish was amazing.

We also really loved the Queso, which was surprisingly thin but bursting with flavor.

The food here was bright and delicious, and the atmosphere was beautiful and lively — a great addition to the EPCOT resort area restaurant lineup!

Energy Bytes

Lastly, Energy Bytes opened up in March as well, alongside the new TRON Lightcycle / Run attraction. At first, they served Digitial Dumplings — which could be hit or miss — but they have since taken them off the menu.

Fortunately, there are still a few delicious options to try here before you enter the Grid. First, the Strawberry IceOform is ice cream mochi with caramelized graham, crackers, and cheesecake foam.

While this snack isn’t for everyone, we really enjoyed it. If you are a fan of the chewy texture of mochi, this one is a lot of fun! The tangy strawberry gel paired great with the creamy cheesecake foam.

Second, the Pina Colada Slushy was added to the menu later, and we’re glad it was! It’s got Chipotle Pineapple, Matcha, and Popping Candy — a unique combo but after mixing it all together it was really refreshing!

The flavors were light and tropical and the popping candy added a fun twist.
