This Disney 100th Anniversary Souvenir Looks PAINFUL

Disney has released a LOT of 100th Anniversary merchandise over the past few months that might have you tempted to open up those wallets.

100th Anniversary merchandise

We’ve seen Loungefly bags, a 100th Anniversary VESPA(!?!), and even Pandora jewelry. But one item looks PAINFUL — it’s one of those that might make you cringe a bit without even having touched it or put it on.

Introducing the Disney ears you might want to completely AVOID — the Disney100 Platinum Mickey and Minnie ear headband.

Disney100 Ears

We saw these a little while ago in Disneyland.

Seen in Disneyland

But now they’ve made their way to Disney World too! We spotted them at The Emporium in Magic Kingdom and we later found them in EPCOT as well.

The ears themselves have a fun design. They are in that silver/platinum color that is the signature look of the celebration as a whole. And they feature Minnie on one ear…

How Stylish!

…a very dapper Mickey on the other…

Lookin’ Good!

…and a fun, retro 100th Anniversary design in the center.

How Cute

So, what’s the problem? Well, these are NOT comfortable. The headband is made of a SUPER heavy plastic and it has those comb pieces on the top (which can help it stay on your head but also can dig into your head in a not-so-great way).

Not The Comfiest

Unlike other ears that have soft padding on the headband to help cushion them while they sit on your head all day, these are mostly hard and heavy. For some, that might be totally fine, but our advice is to try them on before buying to make sure they aren’t the type of ear headband that’ll give you a really bad headache. 😖

Not Necessarily Ideal

Interestingly, in the Emporium, these were located in a bin with toys — not your usual spot for ears — so be on the lookout for them there!

They’re priced at $23.47. What do you think? Would you bring home these ears or do they look like a one-way train to headache city for you? Tell us in the comments!
