Moana Actress Shares Major UPDATE on Disney’s Live-Action Movie

Back in April, it was announced that a live-action Moana film was in the works over at Disney.

We’re also following along with the news around the upcoming live-action Lilo & Stitch film, and the live-action The Little Mermaid movie is getting ready for its big release. Now we’ve got some huge casting news about the new Moana film, but it may not be what you expected.

Auli’i Cravalho, the original voice of Moana, took to Instagram to announce that she will not be reprising her role as Moana in the live-action reboot.

In her video, she mentions how important it is to her that casting accurately represents the story being told and how, as an executive producer of the film, she can’t wait to help find the best actress to bring Moana to life.
