BREAKING: A Live-Action ‘Moana’ Movie Is in the Works at Disney!

We’ve been seeing no shortage of live-action remakes of classic Disney movies lately.

But, it looks like a newer Disney film is getting the live-action treatment and we’ve got all the details!

The Walt Disney Company recently held its 2023 Annual Shareholders Meeting, and we learned that a live-action Moana movie is in the works!

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made the announcement and confirmed that Maui will be in the movie but did NOT explicitly confirm if he will be playing the role. He shared the movie has lots of inspiration from his family and Maui is inspired by his late grandfather. UPDATE: A post from the Disney Parks Blog notes that the live-action film is in development “with Dwayne Johnson reprising his role of Maui.”
