The Crowds in Disney World Today Might Surprise You

If there’s one thing we can usually count on in Disney World, it’s that it’s going to be hot outside…right?

Cinderella Castle on a sunny day

Nope! That is not always the case. Even though Disney World IS in the middle of Florida, it can still get pretty chilly occasionally, and we’re heading into that time of the year right now. So does the cool weather draw the crowds in or keep them out? Well, the answer might surprise you.

It’s pretty chilly in Disney World today, which might be unexpected if you’re visiting and only planned for warm weather!

Still a lot of people here!

The high in Disney World today is 69 degrees, but the low is 52. If you’re from places that get cold more often than Florida, this might seem like pretty pleasant weather, but it’s not when you don’t have the proper clothes! Either way, the crowds were not deterred, because there were still a LOT of people heading into Disney World today! Just check out the line for the Monorail at the Transportation and Ticket Center.

It’s busy!

It was really apparent to see that the cold was affecting people though, because the stores were PACKED with people trying to buy sweatshirts and jackets!

People are trying to stay warm!

Even smaller stores had people crowded inside looking for a way to keep themselves warm.

And, a lot of people turned to a warm drink to do the trick. Just take a look at the line for Starbucks in Connections Cafe at EPCOT…

Yeeesh

…and the line for Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea outside!

Wow!

Over in Magic Kingdom, The Emporium actually got so busy with people trying to buy warmer clothes that Cast Members were using microphones to control the crowds. We saw a ton of people walking around the park though. In Fantasyland, things were busy…

Still busy

…and Liberty Square was packed, too! The cold weather did not keep people inside.

A sea of people

But, what it did seem to do was keep people from buying cold treats, like Dole Whip. Just LOOK at that teeny tiny line! That is a rare sight over at Aloha Isle.

No one wants some frozen Dole Whip?!

So, while the cold weather doesn’t necessarily keep crowds away from the parks completely, it does keep them away from certain areas. And, with this info in mind, make sure that you bring the proper attire for the weather on your trip so you don’t have to spend time and money grabbing warmer clothes! Check the forecast in the days leading up to your trip.
