Orlando International Airport Issues Ground Stop Due to Storms in Area

It’s hurricane season in Florida which means you can encounter bad weather on your trip to Disney World.

We’ve got plenty of tips including what to pack and where to eat when it’s downpouring in Disney World (like it is right now). However, bad weather can also affect your travel plans coming to or from Disney World and today, that may be the case.

Orlando International Airport has issued a ground stop due to storms in the area. So far no flights have been canceled, but it is significantly affecting inbound flights to Orlando.

WESH reporter Eric Burris shared how the ground stop is impacting travel right now. Currently 152 flights at Orlando International Airport are on time and 29 flights are delayed.

A 'Ground Stop' has been issued for @MCO due to storms in the area- holding some flights from heading our way. This will of course impact inbound and then outbound flights. We will be watching things closely and updating you as we get information…
