The WEIRDEST Things You’ve Ever Done in Disney World

What happens in Disney World stays in Disney World, right?

Main Street Train Station

The happiest place on earth is home to exciting and innovative attractions, delicious and cutting-edge dining locations, and many, many, many guests at any given moment. Sometimes the unexpected can happen in the parks, leaving guests to do what they’ve got to do — even if it means doing something downright weird or unfortunate. It got us thinking about what strange things have happened in the parks, so we asked our readers…

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever done in Disney World? 😳

Being in the parks from rope drop to close can be exhausting — even being in the parks for just part of the day can really drain you. It sounds like that’s exactly what happened to one reader, who replied, “Fell asleep on a rocking chair on Main Street during a late-night parade 🤣 🤷🏻‍♀️  Disney fatigue is REAL!”

Sometimes even Mickey needs a nap.

Another reader felt the need for a mid-day snooze instead, saying, “I took a nap in the middle of the day in the fireworks viewing area.” Depending on the time of year this happened, it would either be a really fantastic idea or a terrible one — thanks to the unpredictable summer weather in Florida!

Many Disney guests frequent EPCOT to make use of its many spots to grab a cocktail or other adult beverage. We’ve seen our fair share of shenanigans take place in the World Showcase, and one AllEars reader owned up to their buzzed bird blunder, “A few years back – I drank my way around the World Showcase ending in the Mexico Pavilion where I purchased 20 decorative parrots on perches. My mind said I could recreate the Tiki Room at home.

Mishaps can take place even in the happiest place on earth — from a dropped ice cream cone to even your favorite ride breaking down on your trip. Those sunny summer days in Disney World are no joke, and this reader found that out the hard way. They shared that they dropped their sunglasses in one of the Tomorrowland bathroom toilets — YIKES!

Have you ever been responsible for shutting down an entire attraction in Disney World? Sounds like a less-than-ideal scenario, and unfortunately one reader actually knows what it feels like as they replied, “Waiting at the exit of Haunted Mansion for them to retrieve a forgotten item. Accidentally touched the emergency shut off and shut down the whole ride.” Talk about making a grand exit!

  1. Yes! So once I was standing in line for the Haunted Mansion, and the weather started getting rainy. Added a lot of atmosphere to the outdoor queue. Right before we entered the building, lightning must have struck really close by, possibly one of the Lightning Rods Disney has. And the sound of thunder was deafening, and immediate. Literally the entire queue started screaming and Jumping at once. Then the doors opened to the mansion and we all went inside. This was a pretty wild way to start off a spooky attraction.
