In early March, Disney World’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser finally opened!
The two-night, completely immersive experience is unlike anything Disney World has ever done before. Prior to its opening, one of the biggest questions surrounding the hotel was what transportation would look like to the Halycon from other parts of Disney World Resort.
While previously bus transportation was available from Disney Springs to the Star Wars Hotel, according to a Disney Cast Member was spoke to today, the bus service to and from Disney Springs to the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel has been discontinued as of this past Sunday.
The Cast Member did not share any additional details, and when we looked around for any indication a change had been made, we noted that there was no longer any signage for it (you can see the previous signage below at spot #18).
The signage didn’t last long before it was removed prior to the hotel opening, however on opening day we did spot bus transportation taking guests to an from the resort.
So, how exactly can Disney World guests get to the Halycon if not using their own vehicle? When we spoke to a Cast Member during our first trip aboard, we were told that if you are transferring to/from a Disney World hotel before or after your star at the Star Wars Hotel, you should be given a taxi voucher that you may use.
Additionally, you can always use your own car or rental care, or a rideshare service.

This just seems like a joke if you are already shelling out thousands for the weekend. “Get an Uber! Very magical and immersive!”
Not sad to see this change, lol. I’m going on the Starcruiser experience in August and had no intention of taking the bus to Disney Springs while at the cruiser or trying to go from my resort with my luggage to Spring to change to the Halcyon bus to go there. A Uber isn’t that expensive and of course Disney has so far been comping that costs in any event. The bus was just for people who arrived to the Halcyon early to have someplace to go but I don’t think very many people have been using it.
