PHOTOS: Remember Disney’s REAL Lightsaber? We Just Got Another Look At It!

Happy Destination D23 everyone! Today brings BIG announcements about the future of Disney parks and we’re covering EVERYTHING from the event!

One of the dazzling announcements was about real lightsabers coming to Disney World, and we got an in-person look at it!

Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, discussed the upcoming Galactic Starcruiser and the future of Star Wars at the Disney parks. He also took the opportunity to show off the real lightsaber that Disney has made. D’Amaro lit up the lightsaber, which had a blade that appeared out of nowhere!

And it’s official: you’ll be able to experience this lightsaber up close and personal on the Galactic Starcruiser, Disney’s immersive Star Wars hotel, opening March 2022! The lightsaber will be wielded by characters you can meet during your experience on the Halycon.
