It’s very important to check the park hours before your visit to Disney World!
The calendar on Disney World’s website and in the My Disney Experience app will help you plan your trip and let you know if there are any irregularities, like if a park is closing early. In fact, for those traveling in January 2022, there’s one important date that you should know about on the calendar!
Park hours are currently available through January 26th, 2022, and for those planning to visit Magic Kingdom on January 25th, you may want to change your plans. Why? Well, because the park will only be open from 9AM to 4:30PM!
UPDATE: Disney World has since released more park hours and Magic Kingdom will also open from 9AM to 4:30PM on February 8th, 2022.
On that day, the park will close multiple hours earlier than usual and there will be no showing of the Disney Enchantment fireworks. If you were hoping to have a full day in the park, you may want to move things around a bit to make sure that you get full use of your ticket.
We’ve seen parks close early in the past for special events, but it’s a tad unusual to see Magic Kingdom shut its doors mid-afternoon. Disney hasn’t released any information on why the park hours will be limited that day, but we’ll look out for any details.

I’m heading to Disney Feb 6-11. Can’t wait!!
MK closed early for a private event when we went in early August. I was the best park day! The crowds were very light because everyone stayed away. We were able to walk on all the rides. Did the whole park by the close at 6pm. So don’t necessarily avoid the park just cause it closes early.
We are headed the 19th to the 25th, and luckily are using the 25th as our Disney Springs day.

The early closure is reportedly to allow for the Cast Member service awards, which recognize career milestones for Cast Members in a private event at the park.
Will be at Disney from Jan 28th through Feb 2nd. Hope there aren’t anymore early closures.
