The Best Ride to Do LAST in Each Disney World Park

A full day in a Disney World park can be quite the affair!

Animal Kingdom

You likely woke up early, rushed out the door to the park, then spent several hours walking way more steps than you’re used to. By the end of the day, you’ve hopefully had a great time, but you’re also likely pretty exhausted. So what do you do last? We’re sharing our team’s picks for the best rides to do at the END of the day in Disney World!

Magic Kingdom: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Let’s start with the original Disney World park, where we’ve chosen a classic Disney coaster to finish our day! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a great ride that’s beloved by many, and it comes with spectacular views.

Look at that castle view!

As you climb the biggest hill of the mountain, you’ll be able to look out over Magic Kingdom, all the way to the stunningly lit Cinderella Castle — now THAT’S how we want to end the night. Plus, since this ride is in the back corner of the park, wait times tend to drop significantly at the end of the day, meaning you may even get to ride twice!

EPCOT — Test Track

You may start to notice a theme here with us choosing outdoor rides, but the parks are so beautiful when they’re all lit up at night, and you can’t enjoy that indoors! Test Track at EPCOT is great at the end of a long day because it offers some thrill…just enough to wake you up so you can make it back to your hotel afterward.

And then you can look at cool cars when you’re done.

Plus, if it has been a swelteringly hot Florida day, then you’re going to want to enjoy that “breeze” you get at the end of the ride. Plus, who doesn’t like going fast in a cool car? That’s pretty much always a good choice for a ride.

Who’s ready to go FAST?

Hollywood Studios — Tower of Terror

What better way to end your day than with something a little spooky? The theming of Tower of Terror just seems a bit more intense at night, and that adds some extra ambiance to the whole experience.

Let’s take an elevator ride.

Plus, when you’re on the ride and the doors open at the top (giving you a great view of the park), it’s a lot less harsh in the evening. In the daytime, you go from being on an incredibly dark ride to having the windows thrown open in a blast of sunlight — that can’t be good for your corneas. Best to ride this one at night.

The ominous feel just works well at night.

Animal Kingdom — Kilimanjaro Safaris

One of the best times of day to take a safari at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is at sunset…you just can’t beat those views! The animals get more active as the heat of the day begins to subside and you’ll be able to snap some truly stunning photos.

This ride has beautiful views!

Kilimanjaro Safaris is the essence of Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and there’s just something so poetic about ending your visit with a ride through the savanna. And if you’re lucky, you might even get to hear the lions roar!

We love spotting our favorite animals!

Honorable Mentions

  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train: gets long lines during the day and the queue is mostly outside, so better to wait here at night.
  • Haunted Mansion: your eyes will be better adjusted to the darkness inside, plus it’s more spooky at night!
  • Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run: at nighttime, tons of people take photos in front of the Falcon with their lightsabers, so it looks really cool in this area.
  • Flight of Passage: the wait time drops quite a bit at the end of the day, and you may even be able to walk on.
  • Expedition Everest: the top of the mountain offers stunning views of all of Disney World!
