Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park aren’t the only two locations reopening this week in Anaheim! Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa will also welcome guests back beginning on Thursday, April 29th!
If you have an upcoming reservation or are looking to visit, we have all the details you need to know!
Who can visit the hotel?
Disneyland websites states, “Before you visit, please be aware that you’ll need a confirmed room reservation for your stay.” If you do not have a confirmed room reservation, you may not visit the Grand Californian at this time. It sounds like for now, Disneyland is only allowing those guests with reservations on the hotel property. This is a big difference from Disney World, where non-overnight guests could visit as long as they had a confirmed dining reservation.
In addition to the Grand Californian reopening on April 29th, the Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will reopen on Sunday, May 2nd for Disney Vacation Club Members. We’ll keep an eye on Disneyland’s website and we will let you know if there are any changes to their policy on who can visit the hotel!
Note that a confirmed resort reservation does not guarantee theme park entry. If you wish to visit Disneyland or California Adventure, you must also have valid theme park admission as well as a separate Park Reservation.
What’s open and closed?
While the Grand Californian will be open for guests once again this week, not every amenity within the hotel will be available. The three dining locations that will be open for hotel guests beginning on April 29th include:
Dining locations that will remain closed at this time include Storytellers Cafe and Napa Rose.
Keep in mind that at this time, only guests with confirmed overnight reservations will be permitted to dine at these locations. For shopping, Acorn Gifts & Goods will be available for guests with overnight reservations.
The pool areas will be open for guests, but may operate at limited hours and limited capacity. Poolside Cabanas will be available for guests to rent.
While the Grand Californian will have several dining options available to their overnight guests, at this time there will be a number of locations that will remain closed for now. This includes Tenaya Spa, the Art of Craft Tour, fitness classes, children’s entertainment, and in-room dining service.
What other amenities are available?
Upon reopening, hotel amenities may be unavailable or limited. For example, Bell Services will be available to bring luggage to rooms, but at this time they will not escort guests to and from the rooms. Other services like Club-level service, Disney Floral & Gifts, and shipping services will be unavailable.
Also at this time, “Extra Magic Hour offerings will be suspended upon reopening of our hotels and theme parks as we plan to manage capacity. We will share any updates on these offerings at a later date.”
We’ll be keeping an eye on the exciting reopening happening around the Disneyland Resort this week, so stay tuned for all of the latest coverage!
