Last year, Tokyo Disneyland opened its largest expansion yet!
The expansion included new rides, shops, dining locations, and shows like the new Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast attraction, The Big Pop restaurant where you can find specialty flavored popcorn, and Minnie’s Style Studio which is the first meet-and-greet location for Minnie Mouse in the park! And, the expansion isn’t over just yet — a new show is opening tomorrow (well, today for those in Japan)!
Located in Fantasyland, the new Fantasyland Forest Theater opens in Tokyo Disneyland on April 1st. It is home to the newest original Disney stage show, Mickey’s Magical Music World. During the show, Mickey Mouse and his friends make their way through Disney and Pixar movies, accompanied by all the classic songs from the films.
Disney has created the entertainment experience with health and safety in mind, so guests must make a reservation through the Tokyo Disney Resort app in order to see the show.
And, the new show isn’t the only exciting detail in the new theater. The theater itself has a pretty elaborate backstory! The story goes that a group of performers journeyed out into the woods and built it out of the resources they could find. Because of that, the entire building looks completely man-made and has lots of wood details (hence it’s called the Forest Theater). You can take a look at more of the details in the new behind-the-scenes clip released by Disney!
