We’re back with another episode of WandaVision! Last week’s episode was so different from the previous sitcom fun, and things are really cooking now!

Let’s get into it ASAP — tbh I just need to see if Kathryn Hahn is in this one as quickly as possible.

43 Thoughts I Had Watching Episode 5 of WandaVision

1. MARVEL INTRO GET HYPE.

2. 80’s yesssss!!!!

3. The house is giving me 80’s sitcom realness with the stairs and dark colors.

4. Her hair is so good.

5. AGNES!!!!!!!!!!!!

6. Oh we are wasting no time throwing Wanda out of her reality.

7. WOW THEY ARE TODDLERS VERY QUICK.

8. The intro is giving me MAJOR Growing Pains vibes.

9. LOL bb Vision.

10. Anddddd back to reality. Hello Monica! Glad you’re ok.

11. Jimmy Woo!!! Darcy! I read on the internet that people want them to do an X-files style show and I am here for it.

12. Director Hayward. Allow me to take this time to say again I DO NOT TRUST YOU.

13. Wait doesn’t she have a funny nickname? Or have we been calling her Scarlett Witch for funsies?

14. AHHHH WANDA GOING TO GET VISION’S CORPSE.

15. Hayward referring to him as “the Vision” is v annoying.

16. Ok these fake children are very cute.

17. Wanda is starting to crack 100%. The pressure of the reality is getting to her maybe?

20. I feel like the writers are just trolling Marvel fans with their own discussions. (“She could’ve taken out Thanos on her own…”)

26. Controlling your own reality must get overwhelming.

27. I love this 80s sitcom solving of huge problems and ending with a life lesson within 20 minutes — but wow we took a turn with bringing up Pietro.

28. Wanda is doing a lot of work on this show — starring, directing, camerawoman, producer. I hope she’s getting paid well.

29. “Take the shot.” OKAY AS PREDICTED HAYWARD IS THE WORST.

31. WANDA IT’S WANDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

32. Does she have a trash accent again?! I can hear traces of it.

33. COMMERCIAL.

34. LAGOS!!!!! Like at the beginning of Civil War!!!!!!! (“Is this paper towel symbolism because they had to clean up her mess after the opening scene of the movie?” – my husband)

35. Oh we’re gonna kill a dog on top of this already traumatizing episode?!

36. Vision’s hair is so bad.

37. Vision is SO MAD. Yikes.

38. I don’t actually think Norm was talking about Wanda. I think…it was Agnes?

39. WHO’S AT THE DOOR.

41. WAIT. That’s not the guy from the movie???

42. “She recast Pietro?” My thoughts exactly Darcy.

43. Okay seriously what is happening.

 

Wow. Well. Lots of things are happening. Vision is clearly starting to “snap out of it” and thinks it’s all Wanda. I’m not so sure — I think there’s another force here. And by another force, I think it’s Agnes.

Speaking of, there still wasn’t enough Kathryn Hahn for my liking, but we got 100% more than last week so I’ll take it. I also adore Jimmy Woo, Darcy, and Monica, so it’s fun to see all of them together. I cannot wait to find out who Monica’s “aerospace engineer” is!

One thing’s for sure…this is getting wilder and wilder. We are starting to see signs of a bigger threat (I think we’re being tricked to think it’s all Wanda and I’ll stand by that!), and while we have guesses, no one knows for sure what’s next.

This episode was great. I can’t wait for next Friday.

POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT: Here is when I discuss POSSIBLE scenarios based on comics, internet theories, and my nerdy friends and husband. So don’t look if you don’t want potential spoilers.

Ok well her brother being back is CRAZY right!? This feels like a huge deal — especially since Pietro is being played not by Aaron Taylor-Johnson who was in Age of Ultron, but instead by Evan Peters who played him in the X-men films. Until recently, there were no hopes of a MCU/X-men crossover, because 20th Century Fox owned the X-men films. But in 2019, Disney aquired 20th Century Fox, so now the mutants would be fair play. Is this a first step in the X-men joining the MCU!? I have no idea, but my nerd friends are VERY EXCITED. (*hey siri, remind me to watch the x-men movies.*)

Now, I am VERY curious who the aerospace engineer is that Monica texted. My first thought was OMG IT’S IRON-MAN. But then I remembered he’s dead and got really sad. But then, I thought maybe it’s Rhodey!? Don Cheadle did say he’s involved with Disney+ Marvel Content so this is plausible. The internet seems to agree with this theory OR is suggesting it could also be Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic from the Fantastic 4.) Considering The Fantastic Four was ALSO a 20th Century Fox movie, this is plausble as well. (*hey siri, remind me to watch The Fantastic Four.*)

But what is really going on in Westview? I hold steady that Agnes is behind this or at least involved, and she’s really Agatha Harkness a powerful dark witch from the comics. And lots of people think Mephisto could be involved as a new supervillain, which doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibilities either. I read a few people suggest Director Hayward is Mephisto, but I don’t think so. I think he’s just a trigger-happy jerkface.

There’s also talk of House of M plot lines, which dates back to an Easter Egg in the first episode. House of M is a comic series all about Wanda fabricating her own reality to cope with her grief…which is basically what we are seeing RIGHT NOW. Who knows if they will lean into the comics more, or if that’s just the overrarching idea for the plot.

Lastly, how will all of this connect to Dr. Strange?! It’s already been confirmed that Wanda will appear in Dr. Strange’s Multiverse of Madness but will we understand the connection by the end of WandaVision!? It’s also been confirmed that Wanda is connected to Spider-man 3. BUT HOW!?!?!?!?

One thing is for sure — we have FOUR episodes left and a LOT of plot left to uncover. I am already counting down the days until we get more Agnes.
