How Accurate are the Wait Times at Universal Orlando? Let's Find Out!

At first when Orlando theme parks reopened, wait times were generally lower than anything we’d seen before. With the holiday crowds rolling in, these wait times seem to have gotten higher and higher and the parks have reached capacity.

Wizarding World of Harry Potter

We’ve looked at how accurate Disney World’s wait times were, and now we’re diving in to see just how accurate Universal Orlando’s posted wait times are!

Universal Studios Florida

At the Universal Studios Florida theme park, we noticed that the posted wait times were much higher than the actual wait times overall. Some attractions were close like Despicable Me Minion Mayhem or the exact time like the Hogwarts Express, but every attraction was either below or the same as the posted wait!

Gringotts

We were shocked by the differences between rides like TRANSFORMERS: The Ride and especially on Escape from Gringotts! That posted wait was 35 minutes, but we only waited 15 minutes! Here are the posted versus actual wait times we saw at Universal Studios Orlando:

Despicable Me Minion Mayhem

Posted: 45 minutes
Actual: 38 minutes

Revenge of the Mummy

Posted: 10 minutes
Actual: 5 minutes

TRANSFORMERS: The Ride-3D

Posted: 30 minutes
Actual: 10 minutes

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

Posted: 35 minutes
Actual: 15 minutes

Hogwarts Express (Kings Cross Station)

Posted: 45 minutes

Universal’s Islands of Adventure

Over at Islands of Adventure, we saw the same pattern. Several rides’ wait times were posted higher than they actually were. This is with the exception of The Incredible Hulk Coaster which was 20 minutes for posted and actual wait time. This is considerably low anyways for such a popular attraction!

Universal Islands of Adventure

Out of all the attractions on this list, we were shocked the MOST by Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure! Posted at 60 minutes, we only waited 19 minutes for this one! Skull Island: Reign of Kong also went much quicker than expected. Because of the new plexiglass, each row was loaded. Here are the posted versus actual wait times for Islands of Adventure:

Overall, wait times were less than posted. These tend to fluctuate so keep that in mind for you next trip to Universal Orlando. On our next visit, more wait times could be accurate! It all depends, but this was our experience on our latest visit to the parks. We will continue to update you on all things Universal!
