We’re having a shopping day in Downtown Disney today and we spotted something new!

Disney has been expanding mobile offerings for some time with all the Mobile Dining features, plus the Disneyland App in general. Now, it looks like our souvenir shopping might get a bit of a mobile twist!
When we walked into World of Disney today, we noticed a big sign right in the front introducing the new Mobile Checkout feature. You can access it through the Disneyland app by scanning the QR code on the sign.

This feature lets you select merch from around the store and pay using your phone! You just grab a mobile checkout bag, open your app, and get shopping. When you find something you want, you use the app to scan the barcode and add it to your bag.

Once you’re done, you use the app to check out, just like you would at a dining location, and then show your exit QR code at the designated mobile checkout exit.

The Cast Member there will check your receipt and bag and you can head out. This is a very cool new feature that could help with lines during more crowded times.

Keep an eye on AllEars for all the latest updates from Disneyland. We’ll be looking for this feature elsewhere too.
