NEWS: Character Meet And Greets Will Be Returning to Tokyo Disneyland Resort

Although Tokyo Disneyland Resort closed in late February due to the global pandemic, its parks reopened on July 1st. That opening, though, came with a series of new health and safety guidelines.

Although character meet and greets were suspended after reopening, Tokyo Disneyland Resort recently announced that those meet and greets would soon resume.

Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea guests will get to meet characters again on September 19th. However, they will need to use a special “entry request” system via the Tokyo Disney Resort App.

At Tokyo Disneyland, guests can meet Donald Duck at Camp Woodchuck Greeting Trails and Mickey Mouse at Mickey’s House & Meet Micky. At Tokyo DisneySea, guests can meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse at Mickey & Friends Greeting Trails and Duffy at ¡Saludos Amigos! Greeting Dock.

However, in the U.S., Disney World is still not offering character meet and greets. Instead, the parks have random character cavalcades and socially distanced character encounters.

Tokyo Disneyland Resort also recently resumed nighttime fireworks and parades, as well as announced an opening date of September 28th for a delayed expansion that includes a new Beauty and the Beast attraction.

A lot is happening at Tokyo Disneyland right now, so we’ll be sure to let you know about any other updates.
