In an attempt to reduce the rise in cases, we have seen a variety of closures and mandates to assist in flattening the curve.

Given Florida’s spike in cases, Governor DeSantis recently issued a mandate to close bars and restaurants that make more than 50% of their sales from alcohol must make customers consume alcohol off the premises. Now, it’s being reported that DeSantis is issuing an executive order that will extend the ongoing state of emergency in Florida for another 60 days.
The state of emergency was first issued in March, extended to May, and is now extended for another two months. The declaration is put in place to allow the Governer to use state funds to deploy National Guard if necessary and quickly acquire resources like necessary supplies and use out-of-state medical personnel.

This extension also means that Florida’s mandatory 14-day quarantine for visitors from New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey will also be extended through September 5th. While academic and professional travel is exempt, “leisure travel” is not, which would include Disney World vacations.

Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom are still scheduled to open later this week as planned. Cast Member Previews are happening today, while both parks plan to be open to the public on July 11th.

As events unfold, we will keep you informed on the latest developments and any further changes.

How can Disney start the clock again for annual passes when the Emergence order from the Governor specifically prohibits visits from the tri-state aria. I live in NJ and am an annual pass holder. I would have to self quarantine for 60 days which would make a Disney trip highly impractical. The tri-state aria is a major contributor to Disney World success, and something should be done for us.
