NEWS: Florida Makes Amendments to Their Alcohol Consumption Ban at Bars, Allowing Some Restaurants to Reopen at Disney World!

In June, Florida implemented a ban on alcohol consumption on-premises at bars

Due to this ban, we saw a variety of spots in Disney Springs temporarily re-close, including Dockside Margaritas and Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar. However, earlier this week, an amendment was made to the original Emergency Order.

In the original official order from Halsey Beshears of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulations, there were a few exceptions to which bars would be able to operate under this ban, including locations that make more than 50% of their sales from alcohol must make customers consume alcohol off the premises.

The new amendment further clarified this, allowing vendors who are licensed to sell both food and alcohol to reopen and operate at 50% capacity.

This amendment, which was signed on July 1st, provides further explanation on why we have seen restaurants like Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar reopen, along with the disappearance and reappearance of Oga’s Cantina from Disney World’s list of restaurants reopening in July.
