Disney World as we know it has gotten some big changes from temperature checks to face mask requirements.
As a way to continue promoting distancing efforts, Disney has also been placing contactless procedures in place, including QR menus and new payments through Mobile Order.
However, when the parks re-open, there are going to have to be new methods in place to distance guests from one another and reduce contact. Although we’ll have to wait and see how Disney World handles attraction queues, entertainment, and more, there might be a clue into how bag check will work at the parks.
Disney Springs conducted testing for a new screening method at the Lime Garage that could make security checks quicker, easier, and safer. Since it’s still in testing stages, we were asked not to take photos. But, we have images to share with you so you can get a look at the process for yourself!
Guests will walk through a touchless scanner that will be able to check their bags before entering various areas.
It will differentiate personal items from something that could potentially be problematic.
The scanner resembles a metal detector or an inventory control detector in stores that will scan your items as you walk through.
Although we aren’t sure if these will be in the parks (they could be situated in resorts, convention centers, or even Disney Springs), they would help entrance lines at places like Magic Kingdom move a lot faster. Since they’re just in a testing phase, we will have to keep you updated with any more news!
Here’s everything else you need to know about Disney World’s re-opening next month!

Gloved Security Guard hands have gone thru my bags for the very last time.
Which is to say: if there are still security guards at Bag Check going thru
our bags by hand, me and my family will never see the inside of a Disney park
ever again.
Hope they use these in the parks. Hate having everything ripped out of a once organized purse by hands that were just in a germy diaper bag. Yuck!
If after the testing phase, This proves to be reliable -Count me in.
We know/have listen about peoples views on ‘Wearing Mask/Face coverings” and “Social Distance”. I have my own views and will keep that opinion to myself. In so far as, not having security touching everything in my backpack. After going through more people than I care to count, ahead of me. Then touching everything in my backpack. Albeit, wearing gloves, no hand sanitizer taking place during that check. I was never happy with that prior ever hearing about COVID-19.
I will be hoping, it is, a success.
