UPDATED! NEWS: Universal Orlando Will Be Proposing a Reopening Date and Plans Tomorrow!

Update: We originally stated that SeaWorld, Universal Orlando, and Disney World would all be reviewing their proposals for reopening tomorrow, but it has since been confirmed that Universal Orlando will be the only one of the three theme parks that will be submitting their proposal to the Orange County Task Force tomorrow.

With Disney Springs and CityWalk reopening to the public, many are starting to wonder what future opening dates we can anticipate in the coming weeks.

Disney Springs has reopened!

And soon, we may finally gain some insight on Disney World’s intended opening guidelines, including a proposed opening date!

As Florida moves further into its state-wide reopening, Orange County Major Jerry Demings has asked local theme parks, including Disney World, to submit a verbal, as well as written, presentation for how they plan to reopen. These reopening guidelines must include a proposed opening date. At the May 21st meeting of the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force, Universal Orlando will submit their proposals for Demings’ consideration, with SeaWorld and Disney World to follow

From there, Mayor Demings must sign off on the plans, which would then be passed on to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for his approval. We had previously heard about smaller attractions like Gatorland and FunSpot submitting proposed reopening plans, but now Disney World and other major theme parks like Universal Orlando and SeaWorld will be included in this week’s presentations.

This is a developing story and we will continue to provide updates as we receive them!
