It’s a big day in Disney World!
Disney World has started its phased reopening with Disney Springs welcoming guests back today. Although we may not know when the parks will be opening, there is the possibility another event will be making its way onto the property.
According to Sports Illustrated, the NBA is looking into resuming their 2019-2020 in Disney World soon!
After the LA Clippers announced that they would re-open their practice facilities for voluntary workouts, NBA League Commissioner Adam Silver has also stated that the basketball league is looking into a “campus-like environment” for players.
Although Las Vegas is also being considered, according to reports, Disney World is currently the NBA’s first choice. While NBA has played their Summer League in Las Vegas previously, the thought is that Disney World would have more privacy away from crowds. There is plenty of space to hold games and practices, as well as ample rooms in the hotels for the players. That being said, fans wouldn’t be attendance regardless of wherever the NBA chooses to conduct its season.
While there isn’t a certainty that the NBA will continue its season, there are a lot of elements pointing to the realistic possibility that the season could resume this summer. We’ll keep you updated with more news!
