As Bob Ross once said, any day is a good day when you paint… especially if you’re doing it at Walt Disney World. In honor of Epcot‘s International Festival of the Arts, Disney has just announced a series of weekend workshops where you can flex those artistic muscles!

Learn to sketch, draw, and animate your favorite characters at these weekly workshops, and bring home a one-of-a-kind memento of your trip!
The Workshops all cost $45 per guest (plus tax) and take place on Saturdays and Sundays during the festival from 10:00AM to 11:15AM. Availability is limited, and the schedule of workshops rotates each week, so don’t miss out!

On Saturdays, you can attend the Ink & Paint Animation workshop with Disney Animator Lynn Rippberger. Each week, you’ll learn the history of 2D Cel Animation, and make your very own Ink & Paint Cel! Each week focuses on a different character:
- January 18th – Mickey Mouse
- January 25th – Minnie Mouse
- February 1st – Donald Duck
- February 8th – Pluto
- February 15th – Goofy
- February 22nd – Mickey Mouse (Encore).
Meanwhile, each Sunday will focus on a different class, though all focus on the power of Disney art and storytelling. On January 19, join Dave Avanzino of Dave Avanzino Designs as he teaches you how to create 3D Disney Shadowbox art in the Disney 3D Paper Crafting Workshop. You’ll bring home your own, framed, eye-popping work of art!
On January 26 and February 16, Todd Bright (Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mulan, Tarzan, Lilo & Stitch, Brother Bear) will teach Gesture Drawing Basics: “Story Telling Drawings”. Learn how to sketch characters in motion and action, and learn how this foundational practice is critical for telling Disney stories.

After you’ve gotten your gestures down, you can head to Bright’s other workshop, Animation 101: Flip Book Fundamentals, available on February 2 and February 23. Bring your drawings to life as you create animations of your very own!
Finally, WonderGround Artist Gregg “Viz” Vizintainer will host Doodling with Viz on Feburary 9. Viz is famous for his insanely intricate doodles, in which drawings and messages are woven together to form a detailed landscape. Here, you can learn how to bring your own doodling to the next level!
All of these workshops will take place in the World Showplace pavilion, between Canada and the United Kingdom. You can book your reservation today by calling (407) WDW-FEST.
