Several Disney World resorts have added new or expanded offerings to their recreation activities from Mermaid School and Art Classes to Pirate Experiences and Cabana Rentals.
If you have a kid who dreams of sailing the high seas they can do just that as they join Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew!
Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew at Disney’s Beach Club Resort
Kids can get a glance into the world of pirates as they participate in the new Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. This new experience teaches kids ages 4-12 the ways of a pirate, and lets them follow clues that will lead to hidden treasure in addition to being named to Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew.
The pirates-in-training will explore the resort as they follow clues and sail on a pontoon boat around Crescent Lake. After the pirates find the hidden treasure everyone will join in a pirate feast that includes selections such as Cannon Meatballs with marinara or macaroni and “gold” sauce for entrees, along with a treasure chest treat or fruit for dessert.
Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew sets sail on April 28. The cost is $55 per child (plus tax). For more information or to book a reservation, call 407-824-KIDS.
Mermaid School
Several Disney resorts offer Mermaid School for guests ages 4 and older. During the hour-long class participants will be fitted with a swimmable “mermaid tail” and led through activities teaching them how to swim in a pool like a mermaid.
Mermaid School will be offered on select dates at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. Classes are $50/person (plus tax). Bookings will open mid-March through 407-WDW-PLAY.
