Don’t Waste Your Money at These Disney Springs Restaurants

We’ve all got to eat, so why not dine at the best of the best?

Disney Springs

There might not be a more eclectic and massive amount of restaurants on Disney World property than Disney Springs. You name it, they’ve probably got it. With all the options that are available, it got us thinking about which restaurants you thought weren’t worth the price.

Not all Disney Springs restaurants are created equally, and that became clear when we headed to our Facebook page to ask a critical question…

We asked our readers: Which restaurant in Disney Springs do you think is a waste of money?

#1 – Rainforest Cafe

Most people are able to forgive a high price tag if the value and service are excellent, or at least are at a level that matches that price. With that in mind, many of you mentioned that this restaurant wasn’t worth the value because the prices were too high, the food was too underwhelming, and the ambiance was geared mostly towards kids, meaning not too many fine dining date nights were happening here.

Menus: Lunch/Dinner, Children's Lunch/Dinner
Services: Table Service

#2 – T-REX

Not to sound like a broken record, but many of you found your experience at T-REX to be almost identical to that found at Rainforest Cafe. So again, the prices were too high, the menu wasn’t stellar, and the ambiance is really for those younger ones in the group. That all lead many of you to feel that this spot is best as a one-time experience.

#3 – Planet Hollywood

In what is becoming a bit of a refrain, most of your complaints about Planet Hollywood were about the menu and the prices, and those did not make the value for the price. To be fair, there were a couple of you who found it to be a decent restaurant, but maybe not the GOAT.

#4 – STK

Maybe we should have called this question, “Which restaurants have more flash than bang?” STK is another one that you felt was overpriced compared to the options served. There was one comment about their burger being a decent value, but that everything else on the menu was out to lunch in the pricing.

Tied for 5th Place

The Edison, Paradiso 37, and Paddlefish all seemed to be getting about the same amount of “love” in this poll. Opinions were a bit mixed but consistent with the others on this list: prices were too high compared to the value of the menu. Additionally, some of your comments on Paddlefish mentioned a lack when it came to the quality of the service.

Remember, dining is very subjective, so you might have a great time at these restaurants and not the best time at others. Our recommendation is to do your research and keep an open mind.

  1. Based on my personal experience at Art Smith’s Homecoming…I had the absolutely worse fried chicken meal ever. Our meals came to the table..it was a bit dark inside and prepared to tackle the fried chicken… The chicken was somewhat cold and the meat mushy though I made the best of it until a glimmer of light shone on my plate..The meat was reddish-pink..a slightly crispy coating and pushed the plate aside….Never complained to the waiter which is on me but had totally loss my appetite. The Moral of the story..don’t eat what you can’t see.

  2. My daughter and I enjoyed the T-Rex experience. As a vegan there aren’t many options for me at Disney Springs (which is ridiculous in itself). They had one and the burger was well cooked and quite good. My daughter (a vegetarian) enjoyed her meal as well. For the record we’re both adults and we thought the atmosphere was quite fun. I mean it is Disney after all.

  3. Always surprised that the Polite Pig high marks. We drank and ate there and wasn’t impressed at all. The sodium content was so high that we informed our waiter. He agreed and said he’s heard that before. I wonder if its the atmosphere that’s the draw.
