We ate there last week. We sat for quite a while before any server stopped by the table. We finally ordered drinks and our food while we had her - the server said she would be back with drinks and bread. She was gone for quite a while and before she returned, our 3 plates of food arrived. The two Chick-parm meals were, at best, barely warm. And very little sauce - really dry. The penne alla vodka came hot at least. All three meals were bland. Reminded us of cafeteria quality. Shan't be returning there anytime soon.
Pros:
Food arrived quickly once we were able to order.Cons:

This was a special vacation with my two grown daughters, I thought this would be fun, drinking and dining. We received an email to meet/check-in at the Wave. We went to the Wave and no one seemed to know about the event, finally a security guard said, we were to meet by monorail security. After finding a little sign we were ushered into an area in the corner by security, there were a few seating groups. No one spoke to us, we were offered a drink with no napkin or silverware and given a cup of soup, wow! Next stop Polynesian, we were in an area right inside the doors with highboy tables, no chairs, the deco was nice, other drink – very sweet and three small appetizers. On to the GF, we had cheese and bubble in the tea room, then were moved into Citricos in two large groups, dinner was very dry piece of white fish and a silver dollar size piece of beef tenderloin. Off to the Contemporary for desserts, 4 floor patio area under the monorail, the seating was directly under the tracks, I couldn’t think about eating with dirt coming off the track above you. There was not enough seating for the group so half the group had to stand. The coffee and drinks were fine, 2 desserts with a box of choc to take. Not the evening I envisioned at Disney.

We've eaten breakfast here our last two trips and it is a new must do. Food is served family style so you don't even need to leave the table and risk missing characters. Cinnamon roll skillet is fantastic!
Characters circulate quickly and service is consistently great.
Highly recommend!

Be prepared for a long wait even with ADR- very popular.
I took my 10 year old son for breakfast and we really enjoyed it. The food was good (we generally prefer breakfast for character meals - lower price and breakfast food seems to translate better at the buffets, especially when you are trying to time character visits to the table).
Characters circulate fairly quickly - suggest visiting around 10:30 near the end of breakfast service - good mid-morning break and plenty of food to hold you until dinner!

We had eaten here on 2 prior trips and really enjoyed-became a must do for us.
Ate here in Aug 2017 and was very disappointed. We were seated very quickly with our ADR. Ordered 1 pizza and 2 Italian entrees. Appetizers arrived quickly, with entrees following soon after. We waited another 30 minutes for the pizza to be delivered. When we finally flagged down our sever, she seemed annoyed and told us entrees and pizza always come at different times. This never happened in the past and we would have changed our order had we known it would be 30 minutes in between, since clearly one person doesn't want to wait 30 minutes after everyone else has eaten to get their order.
When she brought our check, she had doubled up half the items in our order so our bill was about 50% too high. Took another 20 minutes to flag her down to get a correct bill.
While the food was still great, the service and overall experience have definitely gone downhill in the past couple years, no longer making this a must do.

Good foodCons:

My boyfriend and I ate here for dinner one evening on our recent stay in September 2017. This restaurant is Disney magic at it's best!!!! We had an 8pm dinner reservation and arrived a little early and were seated relatively quickly. Our drinks were NEVER empty. There were two drink girls - Sara and Alice - who came to our table endlessly to refill our water and drinks. I ordered pizza and my boyfriend ordered an entree. We had a very nice young waiter named Nicoli. He explained that the food came from two different kitchens so my pizza would take longer. Since we were told about this, there was no issue. My boyfriend was finished with his meal by the time I got my pizza, but that didn't bother us. The pizza is the BEST pizza I've ever had in my entire life. I'm told the dough and water comes directly from Italy. It wasn't overly hot that I burnt my mouth at the first bite. Nor was it greasy nor was the dough hard. It was perfect!!!! The manager came out also and spoke with us because of my nut allergy, which was appreciated. The dessert was very good also. On my next trip this a MUST to eat here again!!!!

I think I would skip this restaurant on my next visit. My boyfriend and I ate here in September 2017. It was pouring rain and the check-in line extends to outside and moved slowly, so we only got even wetter having to check-in. You're seated with others, which isn't horrible, but the way the tables are set up it's hard to see the entertainment, which hardly lasts and then they leave off of the stage already. I felt like my boyfriend was in line 45 minutes just to get his food. The buffet lines were huge and one side of the buffet didn't have everything the other side of the buffet had. I thought the food was so-so and definitely not work the $85. I'd rather eat somewhere else like Via Napoli which was fabulous.
Pros:
Entertainment -- but too short!!!!Cons:
Both sides of buffet didn't have the same food / crowded / seated with othersReview of Captain's Grille Lunch/Dinner

Disney magic at it's best! My boyfriend and I ate here in September 2017. Fantastic meal and service. Our waitress was from France. The meal was temporarily held at Ariel's, a wedding venue at the Beach Club because the Captain's Grille is currently being remolded with a new name. We will definitely have to try out the new restaurant on our next stay. We were on the dining plan and this is the only restaurant that allowed us to get a specialty non-alcoholic mixed drink from the bar. Service and food were fantastic.

The only negative for here is that there isn't enough seating and it's all outdoors (but covered). Great food for a casual restaurant and well worth it to eat at with being on the dining plan. Plenty of food. Great BBQ chicken and pork. The cast member who took my order was very attentive to my nut allergy.
