Review of 50's Prime Time Cafe Lunch/Dinner

My boyfriend and I ate here in September 2017. I love the atmosphere and decor as I'm a huge fan of the 1950s era. We got a table with a TV which was nice. Great service. The food was so-so but the milkshakes -- my boyfriend got a PB&J one and I got a vanilla one -- were DELICIOUS and the desserts were very good too. Milkshakes are included as a drink choice on the dining plan which is nice. Only minor complaint -- our waiter handed me the bill and then I didn't get a chance to finish my dessert because he came back again and seemed upset I didn't add a tip yet. So I then put money down on the table as tip as we were on the dining plan.

Pros:

Great atmosphere / Great milkshakes and dessert

Cons:

Food so-so

Review of Disney's Boardwalk Inn Concierge Level

stayed 3 nites: sept 14,15,16 2017
Seemed very pricey for offerings. Was a last minute switch from beach due to hurricane.
Not big fans of concierge vacations, but was available with annual pass discount. Was not met at entrance. Had trouble gaining access to area due to unescorted. Did not feel special. Check in was long and slow. Only 1 person at desk. Several people waiting after we started, and rude man on cell phone I could not even hear the concierge.
As far as food goes: never saw anything I would eat other than had our fill of coke and ginger ale.
Just don't use these services so not worth the price for us.
I do all my own planning so no did not use then for any reservations.

Pros:

location

Cons:

limited services

Review of Boardwalk Villas (Disney Vacation Club)

We stayed 7 nites in Sept 2017. 1 br villa. For location, washer / dryer & spa tub.
Valet service is slow and not helpful at door. Except for trying to explain how to tip them. Had a problem at check in. We went to park cause online room not listed. Check in at 5 pm and told oh, they just didn't notify you / or change status. Requested a lesser view room and we where put NO where near that location. They kept working at desk on our request > offering to move tomorrow... but then suddenly the room next to the one requested was open? and given to us.
Spa tub to rescue or not> nope Jets would not turn off no matter what we did. Could not drain tub cause water shooting all over .... Called for maintainious and desk said "did you hit the button"? Huh. 3 hrs later aka: 11pm at nite maintanious fixes it after 2 hrs of work and looking for parts. I know I asked for this room...
Next day washer starts up or not? It would be fine and then just stop for no reason. Sis got it to start again and again and again..... But we didn't call for help just reported to check after we left. Didn't want another 3 hrs of work, or change in room again.
After was smooth sailing and a great time. No other issues. Checking out we did our own luggage and self park so no issues.

Pros:

location, 1 br villa

Cons:

price

We stayed finally 6 nites at Cr tower mkv. sept 2017 ending our 2.5 week stay at wdw.
We are long time fans and frequent visitors of CR. Love CR and definately our favorite resort and location. Room was clean and fresh. Quick pleasant valet, and check in experience. Room ready very early. Got our requested location area. Only tower down fall is it was very hot during our stay and when leaving your room due to size and opening of building tower was warm on high floor. Aside from that was truely magical. Very pleasant Cm's. and great room service.

Pros:

location, location, location

Cons:

elevators, pool crowds

Review of Blizzard Beach

We traveled with another family from Saturday 10/7 until Saturday 10/14. We stayed on property and got the water parks and more option for 6 days or $102.50 a person. Believe this park opened in 1995. It does not show the age. Very open and clean. We also went to Typhoon Lagoon twice and four times to Blizzard beach because of the spacing of the sidewalks and between activities. The negative is that at times the bathrooms could have been cleaned more often. The boys, 11 and 12, gave up fast passes to experience high speed water fun. The adults spent time at the Polar Pub. Erin, Kathy and Jose were fantastic. Next year the boys want to reduce the theme park time for the water parks.

Pros:

Water activities options, park cleanliness, staff

Cons:

Bathrooms

Review of CLOSED: Bon Voyage Character Breakfast

My daughter and I had breakfast here in June.

We were seated quickly and then pastries were brought out in a skillet, they were cute and delicious! We tried all of them. Next came the ordering, we both wanted the "tower of pancakes" but of course there were more choices, omelets and such. There comes an announcement/song before each character entrance, so adorable. Every one of the characters, Ariel, Prince Eric, Rapunzel and Flynn spent a good amount of time taking pictures and talking with all guests. Never felt rushed by them or the servers.

The crowd was all ages of children, families and adults, although this was the first character breakfast that I noticed a fair amount of teenage girls attending. SUPER CUTE!

We were so impressed we are attending again in November.

All-in-all, a ten. Food served hot and was delicious, characters were awesome, the restaurant is so pretty and the service was wonderful.

Boat to Epcot or Hollywood Studios after breakfast is a plus, so plan on one of those parks right after it!

Pros:

food, characters, service

Cons:

none

Review of Mama Melrose's Lunch/Dinner

I’ve eaten at Mama Melrose’s several times over the last few years and remembered the food being good. When I was there this past weekend, I was treated to a disappointing experience. I ordered my food and drink at the same time. About a minute later, before my drink order had been filled, my order of chicken parm arrived. It was barely warm, the chicken was dry, and there wasn’t much sauce.

When my waiter came with my drink and inquired about the food, I told him that I felt like the chicken parm had been sitting around and I was the unlucky one to order it. He told me that no, in fact the food does come out that quickly. But he took my plate back for a new one regardless.

Sure enough, about a minute later he was back with a fresh plate. Yes, it was warmer, the chicken was juicier, and it had more sauce. All good things. But it still was a rather bland dish overall. It wasn’t any better than what you could get at a chain Italian restaurant but at least there soup or salad would be included with the meal!

Needless to say, I won’t be rushing back. The food at PizzaRizzo that I had to pass on the way smelled just as good.

Pros:

Food arrived quickly

Cons:

Food wasn’t very good

Review of All Star Music Resort (Value Resort)

I enjoyed many aspects of the resort. The cast members were excellent. There was only the one food court and the choices were limited and most entrees just ok. The only thing to watch out for is the family suite. I stayed at the resort with my husband, daughter and granddaughter. I thought the suite would meet our needs. However, there is just one real bed, and the rest are sofa bed, chair and ottoman. All were terrible. My daughter ended up sleeping on the floor rather than the "bed". Two adjoining rooms would have been far better.

Pros:

Good value.

Cons:

Family suite

Review of House of Blues Sunday Gospel Brunch

My wife and I went here on our honeymoon trip. The Gospel singers were really great-beautiful voices and they really interacted well with the crowd. The food probably isn't as good as some of the other buffets we have experienced in Disney World but there were a lot of choices and plenty of everything. This is one we will probably do again.

Pros:

Singing, audience participation, plenty of food

Cons:

quality of food not as high as other buffets

Review of Paddlefish

We ate here every Disney trip when it was Fulton's. Paddlefish is not nearly as fun an experience. The redo makes it seem much more sterile and stuffier, not so much a family restaurant. The food was fine, but seemed expensive for a blah experience. Our son is a crab fiend, so the appeal to us what there are crab legs on the kids menu. Overall the experience was "fine" but nothing that we would go out of our way for, especially given the prices.

Pros:

Crab legs on the kids menu
