This week in Disney World is about to be BRUTAL, and it’s time to start preparing for it NOW.

Not only is the heat in the parks going to be high this week, but the rain is coming back with a vengeance, and you know what that means? HUMIDITY. More than you’re expecting, and while being soaking wet on a hot Disney day sometimes sounds great…it won’t be like this. If you’re headed into the parks this week, here’s a checklist to make sure you’re prepared for real.
If you’ve got items in your bag that you want to make sure don’t get wet (and we know you do — your phone, portable charger, an extra change of clothes for kids, extra socks, etc.), the Bumkins Disney Waterproof Wet Bag is absolutely something you need.

Don’t be fooled by the name — this bag is not just for baby needs, it can be for anyone in Disney World, or elsewhere, and doesn’t want to get things wet. This bag is easy to fold up and place inside another, so while it shouldn’t act as your only bag for the parks, it’s great to pack in addition for a rainy day.
There’s nothing worse than trying to smear sunscreen on your face, or your kiddos’ face, and you’ve got too much, and now it’s all greasy and globby and somehow spreading it out is making it worse (can you tell we’ve been there?). Solve all those problems with the Solar Buddies Sunscreen Applicator.

This makes it SO easy to reapply sunscreen in the parks wherever you need to. Your face, shoulders, arms, back — wherever you need it, it’s got you. The roller ball design makes it to where it evenly spreads on its own, taking half the battle out of the great sunscreen debacle.
If you want to avoid getting absolutely soaked and also don’t want to feel like you’ve been shoved into a hot, humid oven, you’ll want to grab yourself a FROGG TOGGS Poncho.

This is a poncho that will last you A LONG TIME — dare I say, you’ll buy it and won’t need another poncho ever again (mine has been going strong for about three years now) — and it won’t stick to your skin like so many others do. It’s big enough to easily cover the majority of your body, and even has its own bag to pack it back up in so it doesn’t get the rest of your bag wet!
You’ll need a way to cool yourself down when you’re outside and unable to get inside, and that’s where Cooling Towels come in.

These come in a pack of four, making it easy to swap them out for yourself during your trip, or to share with your group and know who has which one. They’re also very easy to revitalize — just run it under bathroom sink water and you’re good to go!
While it’s on the expensive side, if you know staying cool is incredibly important and you want to avoid getting grumpy when you overheat, look no further than the Shark ChillPill.

This is literally a portable air conditioner, essentially, so if you know you’re traveling this week and staying cool is your number one priority, it may be worth the investment. You’ll have to pick and choose where you want to blow it on your body though, considering it’s small, but hey, it’s powerful!
Having wet socks and shoes after a Disney World rainstorm that you then have to walk around in the rest of the day is awful, especially when it leads to blisters (as it so often does). Grab yourself the Silicone Waterproof Shoe Covers to avoid the problem all together.

We really thought these would be a waste of money when we first bought them, but changed our tune real quick when we saw how well they work. It’s best to walk with the direction of the rain so it doesn’t slip down the cracks into your shoes as much, but you won’t be soaked, and that’s the goal.
We’ll continue to bring you all the latest and greatest Disney tips to help you plan for your trip, so stay tuned to AllEars!
