Review of Citricos

We visited Citricos at Grand Floridian for the first time on Christmas night. GF is so beautiful, especially at Christmas. We got there early so we'd have time to walk around, take a picture in front of their Christmas tree, see the gingerbread house, maybe shop and listen to the orchestra playing Christmas music. The atmosphere was perfect!
Once we checked in at Citricos we only waited a few minutes to be seated. The restaurant is very pretty. Our waitress was quick to take our order but we never felt rushed.
All in all the food was good. I had a crab cake app which was amazing, my entre, beef short ribs, were pretty good. My wife and both daughters liked their entrees but they were not as happy with their choices as I was. Two had chicken and one had filet.
I also very much enjoyed my salted caramel martini. The desserts were amazing - gingerbread cheesecake, tiramisu and chocolate banana tort.
It was a very good meal but I guess we set the bar a little too high. We all expected to be blown away by Citricos and so maybe we were a little disappointed. We've been to Narcoosee's and the GF Café and both were better. However, I'm sure we will go back someday.
Pros:
food was good, Grand Floridian is greatCons:

We enjoyed multiple visits to Geyser Point during our stay Feb 26- Mar 1. You really can't beat the view and comfortable atmosphere. The service was a bit slow at times, but I believe this is something that will be smoothed out after a few more weeks of operation. We enjoyed some delicious breakfast options, which you order from the quick service window and a server delivers to your table. We also dined for lunch a couple of times. To order from the full menu, you sit wherever you like and the servers will bring you a menu. There is a full bar but they also offer specialty cocktails. Due to the construction, the Trout Pass pool bar and Roaring Fork food court are closed. Once these dining options re-open, I am wondering if the menu at Geyser Point will change. For now, it was a nice place to serve our quick service, table service and casual bar needs.

We ate at the Flying Fish on March 1, 2017. It was our fourth time there, but the first since the renovation. We had high expectations, but I'm sorry to say we left very disappointed. On a positive note, the food was excellent and we very much liked the new look. However, my wife and I both thought the menu didn't offer as much variety as in past visits and was more limited. I was disappointed by the wine list. Lots of bottles from California in the $50-100 range, but very few French wines and I think only one white wine over $100. I would have gladly paid more for something different and that I was confident would be of good quality and pair well with our meal, but I could not find anything. Our waitperson was no help in finding a good wine and seemed to lack any meaningful knowledge, and did not offer to find the sommelier to assist. Our waitperson also was not particularly attentive. The dessert menu left us so uninspired, we skipped dessert, which is rare for us. Overall, it was quite the contrast from California Grill, where we had a wonderful meal two nights earlier. Sadly, we will skip Flying Fish on our next trip and probably a trip or two after.
Pros:
Food was excellent, new look is refined and polishedCons:

Trader Sam's is a quirky fun bar with creative drinks and theatrics to match. We enjoyed our experience, but you really need to understand what you are getting yourself into when going in. First, the place is very small. We waited about 20 minutes before we could sit inside. No problem, as we were able to shop and walk around the resort as we waited. We were able to describe our likes and dislikes to our server and she made some recommendations. The drinks are pricey, but this is not your typical bar. We also ordered several items from the kitchen. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious- a pleasant surprise. Drink orders come with audience and Server participation. What can I say- It's just a fun place!

We scored a same day reservation for LTT and it was a good choice. The menu is limited so we decided on the All Your Care to Enjoy Platter, the food came out at a good pace and everything was good. The mac and cheese looked a little suspect, but turned out to be quite tasty; actually everything we ate was very good. We really enjoyed eating here and would not hesitate to return.

There was no wait to order and we received our food shortly after ordering. The food was hot and fresh but nothing exceptional. We ordered the orange chicken, egg rolls and veggie stir fry, it tasted like something you would get at a mall food court. The dining area was clean and well stocked with condiments and utensils.

Full disclosure: I do LOVE this place...the atmosphere and theming are wonderful, but it definitely needs an update on the loop of trailers played on the big screen. Also, the food has really gone downhill. We first ate here in 2004 on our honeymoon, and the food was very good. We ate here last week, and it was a very basic hamburger that I ate. The Oreo milkshake was very good (they always have been) but I was unimpressed with the burger...which also had cheese & bacon, and still not good. I've had better burgers at McDonald's to be honest. We will be back I'm sure, but I really hope they step up their game in the kitchen.

My wife and I ate at California Grill on February 27, 2017. We are repeat diners there, and this was probably our fifth or sixth visit. We were taking friends there for their first time.
As with all of our prior visits, we very much enjoyed it. We had a great table next to the window, where we could watch the sunset and the fireworks.
Our waiter gave us just the right amount of attention. Attentive but with discretion. He was very helpful when it came to selecting a wine and his recommendation was spot on.
My wife and I each had the filet and it was cooked perfectly. Our dinner companions also told us their meals (pork tenderloin and yellow fin tuna) were excellent.
Definitely going back!

We enjoyed another excellent dining experience at Victoria and Albert's on Feb 28, 2017. This time, we dined in the Queen Victoria's room. This was our 4th overall experience at V&A's, 2nd time in Queen Victoria's Room. The staff has seen a costume change since our last visit which was a bit disappointing, but I am sure more comfortable for the servers. This visit was on our Anniversary and the Service and Menu exceeded every expectation. Everything was perfect from the personalized menus to the harpist playing our wedding song per special request, and everything between. Can't wait for our next visit!

This restaurant is a lovely addition to the Magic Kingdom, the theming is well thought out and the atmosphere is perfect match for the Jungle Cruise ride. Our server was attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu and helped point out the best items on the menu. On our server’s suggestion, we started with the Schweitzer Slush, which turned out to be an excellent choice; it was very refreshing after an afternoon in the park. We also ordered the Shu Mai appetizer, steak and fish entrees. All the dishes were great, making this one of the best places to eat in the Magic Kingdom.
