This is my second time staying at a Disney Resort in the last 6 months. I didn't have the best experience the first time so I was very worried but had read great reviews of POR. Once we arrived, my room was already ready, but they had me in the Alligator Bayou section though I had requested the Magnolia Terrace section. I knew there were no guarantees but I went in and asked and no problem, they changed me to building 80. As we walked to our building, I saw the cool old mill wheel and the river and a great main pool. Then we got to the Magnolia Terrace buildings and I was so happy. The room itself isn't super exciting, but cute and clean and plenty of room for two. We had a garden view but honestly never spent any time looking. We were in room 8028, facing towards the fountain. This building is a great location because you are right near the bridge that gets you over to the lobby, main pool, restaurants and main bus stop (South). So the walk to get better coffee or breakfast in the a.m. was very pleasant. There was a quiet pool between our building and the one next door that we used on two occasions. Very clean and quiet. Only weird thing is there were no towels there so we had to go grab some at the main pool. Great drinks at the pool bar by the way.
Food court is pretty much always busy. We ate there a few times. Really liked the fried green tomatoes and fried okra. My daughter liked the swamp burger and the pulled pork sandwich. Nothing we had was bad. In the restaurant we had a great meal of jambalaya and some kind of chicken.
Everyone at this resort seemed very fr
iendly and helpful. They made sure to greet us as we walked by which I really appreciate.
Getting buses back from the parks was only an issue once and that was only because we left when the park closed. Leaving the resort, if you are closer to one of the satellite bus stops (north, east, west) it is quicker and a better bet to go there than walk over to south. Half the time after waiting and waiting the buses would pull up to South and be completely or near full. So it was a long wait a few times.
Will definitely stay here again!
Pros:
Beautiful grounds, great pool, great food court and restaurant, friendly staffCons:
distance from room to food court for some, but I enjoyed the short walk. Buses can take a while especially for the park with EMH.Review of Disney Dining Plan

I gave the plan a 5 because there were good things and there were bad things about the plan. The good thing was convience only activating the key pad and putting in your pass code. The bad thing was way to much food and the time to use the table service part of the plan. I don't care to spend this much on park tickets to sit at a table. There was 2 of us. We paid $800 for the plan for 6 days. We did eat more than we paid for the plan. I wrote on each receipt the cost of the meal. With the plan you are almost forced to eat to get what you paid for the plan. I would not recommend the plan. Our son, daughter in law and 3 kids took the plan. Between all of us there was a lot of food wasted. We ate many desserts that we would not normally order. Yes food is very expensive in WDW, but if I were not on the plan I think I would have only spent half as much.

Needed a quick, inexpensive place to grab a bite because of a late dinner reservation later that day. The restaurant was very clean and the order taking process very efficient. I had the angus bacon cheeseburger with fries and enjoyed it immensely. My wife tried the Asian salad and liked the dressing. My DD and DS had the cheeseburgers and fries. For desert we all had a chocolate mousse and there were no complaints. Everything about the food was good and tasted so freshly made. My DS said his cheeseburger was one of the best he has ever had. With the beverages, the bill came to only $74.00. Pretty good for four people eating in a Disney park. We were all happy we stopped here.

I stayed here with my fiancé for 9 nights, 10 days. 7 day park hopper tickets. I requested a room in Magnolia Bend or near there because of how gorgeous and magnificent the mansion buildings were overlooking the River. Check in was a breeze and our bags were already being sent to our room via Magical Express. The room was perfect. Beds super comfy, outstanding products for shower, always tip the Mousekeeper! Restaurant and shops at hotel are still one of my favorites where you don't feel like your going too far to eat and drink. River roost Lounge is great, and Bob on the Piano is unreal. I totally recommend this moderate resort to anyone looking for a couples resort, nice grounds and amenities and the best bang for your buck!!!

This is the best BBQ in Florida. They bottled their own sauce and rub and sell it in Parks. The beans are unreal, BBQ Chicken, Ribs, Salads, etc. This is a must have every single trip to AK. Your missing out if you pass this gem up.

Our experience at the Poly was largely positive! We were 2 parties, traveling together and were assigned adjoining rooms as requested! The adjoining rooms were fantastic! This was our first trip with our 7 month old - and with the grandparents next door, we had help whenever we needed! Plus, in the evenings, we could go to their room and watch tv with the baby monitor going and the door open.
The room itself was great, we had to get a little creative with storage, but we made it work. Definitely not the drawer space we are used to at most Disney Resorts, but we made it work. The split bathroom was great and made getting ready in the mornings a breeze.
Our location in the Tokelau building was perfect, it was convenient to the resort. We often walked to the TTC to catch the monorail to Epcot which was perfect! Our only real complaint was that the monorail was unreliable at best. Each day one of the beams was down. Resulting in having to get creative in transportation. Not a huge deal, but when paying to stay at a monorail resort and then not being able to use it like it is intended is a bit disappointing.
Overall we loved our stay at the Polynesian! The rooms, the lush, tropical grounds, location and theming make it an ideal place to stay when at Disney.

We've only visited The Boatwright's Dining Hall once but we will be sure to visit again. While the price was a bit high, that's what you should expect from Disney. My mother had The Big Easy and I had General Fulton's Prime Rib.
While I can't give my mothers opinion on The Big Easy, I can say that the prime rib I had at The Boatwright's Dining Hall is by far and wide the best prime rib I have ever had. The cut I got was the size of a large dinner plate and for $34, it was worth every penny. It does have a bit of a spice kick to it but it's not spicy, just enough to make your nose run a little.

Atmosphere isn't all that greatReview of Morimoto Asia

We visited the evening of 02/13/17
Let me start with our appetizers: The Kanikame Rangoon's and The Morimoto Spare Ribs. All I can say about the rangoon's is all rangoon's you eat after your visit to Morimoto Asia will be inferior. I'd gladly pay $15 for 3 of them. As for the ribs, eat them slowly and enjoy every bite. The meat just falls right off the bone and almost melts in your mouth. Know what I know now, I would have just ordered a few dozen ribs and eaten those exclusively.
For dinner I had the Duck Ramen, my mother had the Beef Lo Mein Noodles and my father had the Sweet and Sour Crispy Branzino. My mother thoroughly enjoyed her noodles, however my father didn't care much for the fish, although it is supposed to be a chef special. As for my ramen, I thought it was kind of bland. I wouldn't order it again. Also a note with the ramen, they do put whole sprigs of parsley in it. Make sure you chew the ramen thoroughly because I choked on the parsley several times.
For desert, we shared an order of the Churro Fondue. While it wasn't delicious, I personally think I could replace the churro's they served with the churro's from Magic Kingdom and you couldn't tell the difference.
All in all, going back I think I'll order a different entree next time but as for the appetizers, I would highly recommend each of them.

I was extremely impressed with Garden Grocer. I used this service due to having 2 little ones in diapers. This saved me the hassle of needed to pack a suitcase of diapers, wipes and other baby/toddler necessities. The water, beer and wine alone was a huge cost savings compared to purchasing it throughout the park. I was impressed by the phone call I received right after placing my order and the timeliness of my order arriving at the resort. The only con was the brand diapers I ordered came in an older style which wasn't nearly as nice as the new one (same brand/type just old style). But even with that, I would highly recommend this to anyone!

The Yacht Club is stunning inside and out, the lobby is impressive but the view outside is enough for me to stay again and again. I loved the atmosphere it created and always felt welcome everywhere I went. The pool was fantastic and I wish we had more time to spend there. If you have a little one who isn't a fan of sand though, make sure to bring water shoes for them to enjoy the experience. We loved our location, with a view of the water on the first floor. I had requested a location closest to the conference center due to nursing my little one (traveling for work, hubby & baby back in room) and they honored that request and more. I was very impressed with the service (mousekeeping, bell services, front desk) and everyone that we encountered. The room we received was slightly dated but i know they are currently updating all rooms so this is something that I looked past. My only wish is that they had a grab/go meal option, especially for our little ones. I believe they are redoing and expanding this off the lobby so lets hope that happens this year. Overall we had an amazing stay at Yacht and I would recommend it anyone that can stay there.
