Review of Sci-Fi Dine-in Theatre Lunch/Dinner

The best part of the Sci-fi is the atmosphere and the milk shakes. My family of 6 adults ate here on Aug 9th and had a wonderful time. The food is fine but they need to expand the menu a little. We had the steak dinner, boneless wings and burgers and everyone enjoyed their food. It's dark inside so we needed to use the spot light on our phones to see the menu. This is a must do whenever we visit Hollywood Studios.

Pros:

Atmosphere

Cons:

My family of 6 adults ate here on August 8 for a 12 noon seating for the Fantasmic Package.
The food was delicious but way too much. We had so much food we could not eat it all. The steak diner is excellent as well as the chicken parm. We started out with the flatbread which is very good but filling. By the time dessert came we were all to full to eat much of it. We have been here several times and have never been disappointed.

Pros:

Setting and Food

Cons:

too much food

Review of Disney's QUICK SERVICE Dining Plan

We were fortunate to get the free quick dinning promotion offered for late August. We were disappointed (at first) that the free promotion didn't include sit-down service. But as we ate "around the world" we discovered that counter service at WDW goes well beyond burgers and nuggets. We found really great, inventive counter service meals. This plan was also accepted at many of the third party restaurants at Disney Springs. (The Polite Pig was a favorite!)

Pros:

Plentiful portions!

If you like Thanksgiving Dinner this is the place for you. Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, cranberry, vegetables, what more can you ask for. They also served pork and roast beef which were just ok. The last visit they had ham instead of pork which was way better. Wish they would switch back. The only down fall is after you eat you don't feel like walking around any more because your so full. My family of 6 adults ate here on Aug 9th right before the night time show so we had time for our food to settle. This is a must do for us every time we are at the Magic Kingdom.

Pros:

One of the Best Meals in Disney

Cons:

Can't move after eating

Review of Port Orleans Riverside Resort (Moderate Resort)

We loved our second story rooms at the Alligator Bijou. We tried using the online check-in which worked well for one room, but not the other. Not sure I'm a fan, because if you have questions, etc. you will wind up at the desk anyway. Most of the requests we had were not met, but as it turned out, we were extremely satisfied. Our rooms were clean and very secluded feeling. We never heard any resort noise. We stayed in building 27 facing the river. Nice location to the food court. The food court could be busy, but we spent most of our eating time at the parks. Incidentally, LOVED the chocolate cake at the food court. Loved having the refillable mugs. Cast members were great. Bus service ran well. We've stayed at French Quarter and the mansions before, so we knew what to expect from busing. Each morning a transportation coordinator was at our depot making sure things ran well. We really enjoyed our stay.

Pros:

Shady, quiet, clean

My husband and I really enjoyed this counter service. Choices of protein, base (veggies, potato, etc.) and sauce are offered. It's little tricky to know which flavors together will work best . I loved the sustainable fish over the sweet and red potato mash. I also liked that the meals were served on actual ceramic type bowls and flat-ware instead of more throw-away stuff. Would love to go back sometime.

Pros:

Inventive flavors and foods

Cons:

might be tough for picky eaters

Ate here twice for lunch on 16,17 August 2017. Enjoyed the variety and different selections compared to most park quick service restaurants. Really enjoyed the Mongolian beef and pork loin entrees, plenty of food. We enjoy the location but it can be loud at times. My teen enjoyed the selection of veggies versus cole slaw at most quick serve locations. Excellent dessert choices, we enjoyed the chocolate mousse cake and seasonal berry compote.

Pros:

Variety

Cons:

Loud dining area

Review of Be Our Guest - Counter Service Breakfast

We were using the quick dining plan for this restaurant, so we got value from using our credits at this pricey breakfast. We enjoyed it so much we went back the next day! Breakfast is ordered at a kiosk and then you can choose your table from one of three rooms. The ball room is beautiful but noisy. The west wing is awesome but a little dark and crowded. We ate in the "music box room" both days as it was a bit quieter and less crowded (good choice if you are traveling with people with sensory issues). Husband and I enjoyed our open faced poached egg sandwich. The poached egg was a bit over done, but flavors of the croissant and bacon were wonderful. It was nice to have a counter service with real flat ware and dishes. It's a busy place, but we enjoyed it.

Pros:

Beautiful Rooms!

Cons:

expensive for what it is

Review of Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa

While the Villas at GF are not my home resort, I was lucky enough to get a reservation in June and July for a studio. I've always wanted to stay there and am glad I finally did.

I stayed in both a standard studio(one night) and a lake view studio(7 nights). I loved the décor, but having to walk to the main building for everything(monorail, food, refillable mug) got to be annoying almost immediately. I normally stay at BLT, so I'm used to the walk to the Contemporary for services, but this walk just seemed longer. I also didn't like that there was very little storage for clothes in the units. Because the trundle bed is now under the TV, you are limited to putting your clothes on a shelf in the closet instead of having drawers to put them in. The big difference I noted in the two rooms was that the standard room only had one bathroom where the lake view room had a split bath with the tub & toilet on one side and the sink and shower on the other. The two halves were separated by pocket doors. However, I think the best part about staying at GF is that you're only one monorail stop from the MK.

Despite the small inconveniences, I loved my stay at GF. You will get your exercise staying there, so come prepared!

Pros:

location

Cons:

having to walk to the main building for everything

This was our first time dining here and we cannot wait to return. We were so lucky to be seated at the window, although it looked like you would have a great view no matter where you sat.

I am still dreaming about the steak I had and everyone else loved their food. Watching the fireworks while enjoying your dessert was such an awesome and unique experience with the music being piped in.

It was very pricey, but well worth the splurge for the very unique and memorable experience. Would love to do it again someday.
