My two friends and I dined here yesterday morning, 7/27. Our ADR was for 10:35, but due to a wrong turn on the way to Epcot and a snafu at the turnstiles, we didn't arrive until almost 10:55. Thankfully the restaurant was not terribly busy and they were able to accommodate us almost instantly.

The picture with Belle turned out beautifully. We were seated a table right near the entrance and close to the buffet. We enjoyed the cold selections-I especially enjoyed the lingonberry muffin.

The potato casserole was definitely the stand out of the hot foods. We asked for more of that and the bacon, and were accommodated.

The princess interaction was very good. We saw Aurora, Cinderella, Ariel, and Snow White. I loved the dresses; they were much more beautiful than the every day dresses they wear for other meet & greets in the parks.

Pros:

Princess interaction, potato casserole, able to accommodate late arrival

My two friends and I dined here around 1:30pm on 7/25. We were on the DDP. We all ordered the chicken & ribs combo. I got the the Key Lime Mousse and the other two chose the Chocolate Mousse.

Everyone enjoyed the coleslaw and ribs. My friends thought the chicken was very good; I thought it was fatty, but I normally only eat white meat breasts so that may have been the problem.

We enjoyed our desserts, but none of us liked the "coating" on the mousse. My friend also loved the Safari Amber beer.

It was lunch time, but it had just downpoured and was still drizzling, so finding a seat was not difficult.

Will definitely return!

Pros:

Friendly cast, good food, easy to find seating

Cons:

Fatty chicken

Kids (12 & 15) loved this place. We all went for milk shakes which were great. I had ribs which were fine although the beans and coleslaw were just ok. DW had the steak with mash. She opted to keep the cheese butter on the side and was thankful for this as she didn't like the butter but thought the steak was fine plain. Both kids went for the build your own burger and both raved about them. DD went for fruit plate, DW went for fudge sundae and DS went for the cake bar which they all enjoyed. I was too full to eat my dessert. We all agreed this place provided a great evening meal that was something a little bit different. Food was enjoyable but the theming is what makes it so great. We will definitely be coming back.

Pros:

Great theme and novelty value

Second time we have eaten here on DDP. As on our previous trip to WDW we made this our first table service meal of the holiday. The food is still of a very good quality. I had the Duck with Anandupur glaze which was excellent and very filling. DW had the ribs which she really enjoyed and DD (15) had the Crispy Mahi Mahi which she said was fantastic. DS (12) had the Steak and Shrimp. He enjoyed the shrimp but thought the glaze on the steak was so-so. Kids both went for sorbet for desserts while I went for the New York cheesecake and my wife just had a bowl of ice cream. We were so full from the main course that we both struggled with desserts. We all love this place and it will be back on our itinerary for our next visit to WDW In two years time.

Great food - good service

We ate here on 7-17-13 for dinner, our first DDP meal of our vacation.

Two of us had the Lobster Orecchiette Pasta which was just mac & cheese with a few chunks of lobster. Our two childern had kid's meals which were not as good as a Happy Meal from McDonalds.

The server never re-filled our glasses and was absent for most of the meal.

Pros:

Atmosphere

Cons:

Food, prices, service

Husband and I dined our first night of our 6 day trip celebrating our 10 year anniversary on 6/19. We both had the combo chicken/shrimp meal and thought it was very tasty. We were seated right way with another family that must have been waiting for awhile, since hubby and I felt rushed to order. The experience got much better as we were treated to a wonderful show. Our chef made a special 10 year anniversary "scene" for us of Mickey holding balloons with the number 10 by it. We took pics with the chef who offered my husband his chef hat to wear in exchange for his sunglasses. I had the salt and pepper shakers and hubby had a knife. It was a very funny pic! At the end of our meal we we were given a piece of the choc. ginger cake to celebrate our anniversary! We felt very special at this dinner as only Disney can do. We will be coming back!

My husband and I stayed 6/19-6/24 for our 10 year anniversary. We were immediately greeted by the wonderful aroma as you enter the hotel. I was presented a rose during check-in since we were celebrating our anniversary which was a nice touch. At first we were issued a first floor pool view room. When we got into the room and could barely see the pool through all the shrubbery my husband immediately called to ask for a room change. This was after we had spent a good 20 minutes trying to find the room! We were completely lost and no one seemed to be able to help us. The staff was wonderful with finding us a room on a higher floor, which took about another 20 minutes for them to call back and send us on our way. We ended up with a third floor room (same as the lobby) with a beautiful pool view. This time our room was just past the gift shop and very easy to find! We enjoyed the towel animals that were left for us 3 nights out of our 5 night stay. The atmosphere of AKL is so unique and homey that we had a very nice vacation. The pool, hot tub, and pool bar were great, it wasn't too noisy, and it provided that tropical feel that I love on vacations. Biggest complaint was that when we returned to our room mid afternoon each day for a break from the parks, the room had not been cleaned. We just got into our swimsuits and went out to the pool for a bit and they were always done with our room when we returned. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. We would love to return with our kids, but being a family of 5 there are no daybeds for the fifth person at this deluxe hotel.

Pros:

Quiet, clean, friendly staff

Cons:

Confusing layout of rooms

We visited in June with our 4 and 1 year old. We stayed in the 50s section and were skeptical as we had previously stayed at the All Star Movies and didn't really care for it. I'm happy to say, our experience at Pop Century was wonderful. It is such a great place for families. Our kids both loved the character statues and the pool areas were really nice and they had activities and oldies tunes playing which added a lot to the nostalgia of the resort. We absolutely loved it. The rooms were updated, clean, and well kept. The food court had plenty of options and the staff was all really helpful. We'd definitely stay here again! It was also fun to take a stroll across the lake and visit Art of Animation.

Pros:

theming, food court, pools, clean rooms

Cons:

crowded

Review of Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria

My friends and I dined here last night for the first time. There was some confusion upon check in. I went to the podium outside, only to be ignored for a few minutes, before being directed to the inside podium. My name was called just two minutes later and we were seated at a table near the ovens.

We were on the regular dining plan. Two of us ordered soda and one chose coffee. We each got something different for our entrees. I got the Quattro Formaggi pizza, which was declared the best of our choices. One friend chose the cream, chicken, and peas dish, which she said would not have been worth it out of pocket. My other friend got the seafood pasta, and had no complaints. We all ended up taking leftovers back to the room.

For dessert, I got the "Ugly But Good" gelato sundae, which was indeed very good. I did not care for the cookie type things on top. My one friend ordered the Italian Soda float and said it was amazing. My other friend chose Tiramisu, which he loved but said was heavy and took him awhile to finish.

Our servers were Eugenio (in training) and Alice. We also had some other servers come by to drop things off throughout the meal. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

Pros:

Excellent pizza and desserts, friendly staff

Cons:

So-so value and pastas
