Review of Liberty Tree Tavern Lunch

Visited Liberty Tree Tavern on 11/17/2013 for lunch. We were on the deluxe dining plan and had reservations. Tried to stop in this restaurant the day before (saturday) for lunch and were told they were booked and couldn't take us. So if you want to try it, make sure you get reservations.
Short wait to be seated, very pleasant staff. Ordered salad for appetizer which was basic but good.
I had the roast beef and mashed potatoes which were extremely good, youngest had the turkey which was just ok (gave her some of my beef which she liked). Portions are generous. My wife and oldest daughter had the pasta which they loved and later said was one of the best dishes they had during our stay in disney world.
As usual with our stay we waited a lot. Took us at least an hour and a half to eat at this restaurant. Didn't do desert.
Will definitely eat here in the future, would highly recommend it.

Ate at 50's Primetime for Lunch on 11/14/2013. We were on time for our reservation and had about 10 minute wait to be seated. The waiting area is nicely themed and we had fun checking it out and posing for pictures, so the wait seemed shorter than it really was.
My party was my wife and I and my two daughters (17,10). My youngest is a big fan of the movie Grease and dressed in a Pink poodle skirt and a "Pink Ladies" satin jacket just for this lunch at the 50's Cafe. So we had a lot of positive comments about her outfit and she really enjoyed the atmosphere.
Our server was friendly and chided us about our manners and such, which was nicely done. The service was a bit slow, it took awhile to get drinks, menus, etc. We spent a lot of time waiting.
We were on the deluxe dining plan so we all got appetizers salads and onion rings, which were good. For the main course we had salmon, 2 - pot roast and chicken. The salmon and pot roast were good, my oldest didn't care for the chicken.
We wanted to get dessert but the park was closing early on that day (4PM) so we didn't have time for the dessert....sadly. Our wait times seemed excessive. It took us an hour and a half to eat here. Seems like they have a big staff so I'm not sure why it took so long.
I hope Disney can find a way to streamline the process where tips are concerned, it's like having to wait for two separate bills concurrently.
We all liked this restaurant. Food was mostly good, and servers were fun, theming was great, It was just too slow! So make sure you budget enough time.

Food was good, nice themeCons:

We ate here on 11/9/13 for dinner. I love the food on this buffet. To give a fair review, I probably liked the food better than anyone else in my party of 4. I love salads and this place has a great salad bar. I also love the fire roasted spoon bread (and several other menu items). Since I can only find these items here, I always want to eat here when we come. My kids are really too old to care about Pooh, but I just love the buffet. Service was fine and characters were great.
So take what you will from this review. 1 AWESOME, EXCELLENT, WISH I COULD EAT HERE EVERYDAY review and 3 it's fine reviews. However, since I do all the planning and reservations, we will be eating here again!

This was our first breakfast here on 11/10/13. It is nice to get in before the park opens and get some pics in front of the castle before there are a ton of people. The food was good (better than Chef Mickey's). We were finished with food and characters at about the same time, and got out just as the park was about to open, so the timing was perfect. We will do this again (so long as we can get a reservation that allows us in before opening).

We love this plan and always get it when we go to Disney. It is great to have the meals paid for in advance (and just have to worry about the tip). We often will use 2 dining credits at the more deluxe places so it is not so much food in one day. We do always have snack credits left at the end of the trip, and come home with tons of stuff from Goofy's Candy Store in Downtown Disney. I know this last trip I bought over $123.00 in snacks with credits before we left to fly home. I think this plan is better value for the money than the regular dining plan. The only disadvantage I see is that sitting down to eat 3 times a day takes a lot of time.

We usually go to Downtown Disney on our last day and eat here. Generally, the food is very good. On this trip, it was just ok. The best thing on our table was the kid's meal of chicken strips and fries. I had the curry chicken salad and crème brulee. My DH had the squash soup and the meatloaf platter. The kids had chicken and mac & cheese. My salad was good, but not really great and very hard to eat. The soup (usually delicious) was hardly edible. The meatloaf was okay and the mac & cheese was dry. The crème brulee was not edible. None of us could eat it.
Next trip to Downtown Disney we will try somewhere else. We stopped eating at the Cafe' because the food had gotten so bad. Guess it is now trickled down to Express.

We ate here on 11/11/13. We had an ADR for 9:50 p.m. It was an hour before we were seated. People who arrived well after us were seated well before us. We were not seated until I went up to complain. At 11:00 p.m., after a hard day in the parks, the boys were too tired to eat (and were sleeping during dinner). As a result, we wasted 2 meal plan credits on dinners that weren't eaten. The food was very good, and just kept coming. Almost to the point of being obnoxious. You would say "no" and they would insist you take some. So you would say "just one piece" and they would give you 6. It was over the top with the amount of food. I feel like we wasted so much food because they wouldn't listen to us. I'm not sure if we will eat here again. For us, it was not a good experience coming at the end of a long day (where we ate 4 meals). However, if you like meat and all you can eat, then this is the place for you. Just be prepared to wait.....

We ate here on 11/12/13 and it was good. We were seated quickly (which is rare there) and served quickly as well. The food was fine (I love the bread and juice). I am not a big breakfast person, so I can't really comment fully on the food. Everyone else ate a good amount. The characters were quick to come around so we were finished with the entire thing around the same time, which was nice. We will eat here again. If you are trying to decide between here as Chef Mickey's, and it comes down to who has better food, my vote would be O'hana.

We ate dinner here on 11/8/13. We were staying at the Contemporary, this was our arrival day and it was convenient. They were quick to seat us and the service was good as well. It was my nephew's birthday and they went WAY out of their way to make it special for him, for which I will be eternally grateful (and is the only reason I give them a 6).
The food was another story. We have been eating here for years. For the last few years, it has been for the characters (and not the food since the food has been in steady decline). It has the Fab 5, nattily dressed, making for great pics. After this trip, I think we may call it a day on this one. The choices on the buffet and the quality of the food have reached a level that has become unacceptable for what you pay (more so for dinner than breakfast, but I'm giving that one up as well). I found very little that was appetizing on the buffet and ate very little as a result. Our kids are getting older and pics with the characters are not as important to them anymore. We will probably look for better food and less characters in future trips to Disney.
