This was our second time using Garden Grocer. We asked that it be delivered to Bell Service since we were getting in late. We arrived at the Carribean Beach around 7h30 and our order was waiting for use.
Everything we had ordered was there and well packed.
I recommend using them.

Efficent

We ate here on 11/11/13. This has been our pick for dining in DHS for some time. The food is consistently good (and sometimes better than good) and our service has always been good as well. This time was no exception. I had the magical star cocktail, caprese appetizer, the strip steak with mac and cheese and cheesecake for dessert. My DH had soup, osso buco (I think off menu) and gelato for dessert. All of mine food was really good. The drink, however, had so much ice that I feel like I paid #12. for less than an ounce of liquid total. I think I drank it all in one sip. My husband said his soup was ok, the osso buco was fantastic and what can you say about a bowl of ice cream. The kids had soup, pizza and a sundae. They said it was all good. I tried the soup and it was fine.

We usually eat here in DHS and will eat here again, but we will be adding The Hollywood Brown Derby as well. Yummy!!!

Review of Caribbean Beach Resort (Moderate Resort)

Just got back from a one week stay at the Carribean Beach. We enjoyed our room somewhat dated but well maintained. Queen beds would have been nice but the double beds and pillows were very comfortable. We liked that the shower was seperated from sinks. Allowing someone to get ready while someone else was in the shower. The room size was very decent. From reading other reviews, we were somewhat worried about the size of the resort and the distance from one location to the other. We were quite happy to be in Jamaica. We often crossed to Old Port Royale and took the bus there. In general, we did not wait too long for buses to the parks. The Bell service was very helpful in getting our bags to our room and then to the customs house to catch the Magical Express. We enjoyed the foodcourt. Found there was a good selection. Had an excellent meal at Shutters. Did not get a chance to try the pools. If you're looking for a tropical feel, this is for you. If you're looking for something that has all services centrally located then this might not be for you.

Pros:

Tropical feel

Cons:

Distance

We ate here on 11/10/13. As always, the food was really, really good (except for dessert). All the food brought to our table of 4 was eaten, and all of it was very, very good for a buffet style of eating. Our server was nice, but a little slow. However, my main complaint was the nasty dessert they are serving now in partnership with Ocean Spray. It is just not good. None of us ate it. We all tried it, but found it to be yucky. It was a rather unhappy ending to an otherwise great meal.

We (have) and will eat here again. It is consistently good, and hopefully they will bring back the apple dessert soon.

Pros:

Good food

Cons:

Not so good dessert

We ate here on 11/9/13. The service was ok. There was a substantial language barrier and it took forever to get our food. I had the caprese, veal parm and ricotta fritters. My DH had the fried risotto, lasagna verde and gelato. The kids had veggies, pizza and a cookie sandwich. My food was just meh. If I had skipped this meal, I wouldn't have missed much. My DH felt the same way about his food; except for the dessert, which he really liked (but not enough to go back). Now the kids, however, liked their pizza a lot.

In m opinion, there are many other, better options for eating in EPCOT. This is not a place we will revisit by choice.

Pros:

Quick service

Cons:

Just ok food and service

We ate here on 11/8/13 and both our service and food was excellent. I had the blue lump crab spring rolls, the filet, and the grapefruit cake. My DH had the lobster bisque, the duck two ways, and the cheesecake. The kids had soup, salad, pasta, grilled cheese, and both had the hidden treasure dessert. My spring rolls were great as was my filet. The dessert I ordered was not good. That, however, is personal taste and no knock on the dessert itself. The cake was moist, light and flavorful (just not a flavor I happened to like). I got the dessert because everyone raves about it (even though I don't care for grapefruit). Not my cup of tea, and now I know. My DH's soup was okay, but his duck was out of this world. The entire table was eating it. Both the boys said that the duck here was their favorite meal of the entire trip. If you like duck, I highly recommend this dish. His cheesecake was good, but different. The kids' liked their food (the salad was wonderful, as was the soup). They also enjoyed their fun little desserts.

Our server was so attentive without being suffocating. She was just lovely with the boys. It was my nephew's birthday, and she went out of her way to make it special for him. A gesture that was greatly appreciated.

This was our first time eating here, but will not be our last. We will be adding it to our "must" list (and, sadly, removing a few as well).

Pros:

Food was very good

We ate here on 11/11/13. I usually eat here when we are in the AK during lunch. Usually, I find the food to be outstanding. This time, it was just okay. I had the pot stickers, maple tamarind chicken and fried wontons. My DH had the seared ahi tuna, duck and fried wontons. The kids had the burger and fries and chicken and fries (the fries were to die for). My pot stickers were typical and nothing extraordinary, as was my chicken. Neither were bad, just not WOW! My DH's tuna was really, really good. His duck, just okay (really fatty, even for duck). The fried wontons were, as always, very good. The kids were fine with their food, just kinda bummed because the options were so limited.

I have (and will) eat here again. I would recommend it to someone who was in the park during lunch (I wouldn't go to the park just to eat there, though).

Pros:

Great service

Cons:

Food was just okay

Review of Wild Africa Trek - Animal Kingdom

We did this tour on 11/11/13. We loved it!!!! My DH, DS, and DN complained for 4 days before we did the tour, and not wanting to do it. I had to make them go. Within 10 minutes of the tour starting all 3 of them were saying "This is so cool!" (And I am righteously indignant with my "I told you so's".)

It is expensive, but really worth it. The guides were wonderful, upbeat and very patient -- answering any and all questions that were asked. The tour was very informative and the view of the animals was spectacular. I know this can vary from tour to tour, but for ours, it was great. I mean a rhino came and essentially charged the platform we were on after eating lunch. To borrow a phrase, "It was so cool!"

Lunch was small but very, very tasty. If you ask, the guides will print the recipes for you at the end of the trek. Our family will do this again with absolute certainty. I can see the allure. On our tour there was another family and it was their 4th tour, and they were still as amazed as we were on our first.

The amount is walking is not bad at all. You are so busy watching/looking for the animals, that you don't even really notice the walking. The aspect of having to walk is what made my entire group not want to do it. However, when it came time to ride, they still wanted to walk because it was just so amazing.

The water bottle and pins are kinda cheap (especially for the price of the tour). I wish they would improve the quality of these items. I know you don't go on the tour for a water bottle and a pin, but since those are your keepsakes, it would be nice if they were nicer. Disney has a gorgeous conservation pin that you can buy. I think that should be given to those on the tour since a portion of the proceeds go to conservation.

Which brings me to my last point. You do get to choose where your money for conservation is spent; which I think is great. It makes you feel good to know where the money is going and not just that you "donated" in the abstract.

So to recap -- loved everything but the keepsakes, but still not complaining and will do it again.

Pros:

Everything

Nothing

Review of Contemporary Resort (Deluxe Resort)

We often stay at the Contemporary Resort when we go to Disney. We love being able to walk to MK and travel via monorail to EPCOT. The room size is nice and the hotel kindly accommodated all of my requests. Check in was a breeze (too much of a breeze, actually since they forgot to give me my photo pass plus card). Nonetheless, with online check in, you don't even have to go inside the hotel to check in. We checked in early and left immediately to our reservation at The Hollywood Brown Derby. The quick check in process was a life saver since we were running short on time.

We did do the in-room celebration for my nephew's birthday (which, normally would not be worth the price IMO, but this was a special circumstance). While this was not done completely to my specifications, no one knew that but me, and the kids were very excited with everything.

We did not use room service or cleaning service so I cannot comment on either of those aspects.

Again, what we love is the Location, Location, Location and the Contemporary would have to really go downhill for us to give that up.

Location, Location, Location
