Review of Mama Melrose's Lunch/Dinner

We did Mama for the Fantasmic Package, so to be frank that was the only reason we ate here. This helped out BIG as the show was filled to capacity and we walked right in 20 min. before the show and had great seats.
Mama was a nice surprise, the food was very good and service was excellent. Not much to choose from, but good nonetheless. Great place for pasta/Italian lovers. The only small negative is where it is located. Mama is next door to Muppets and Studios doesn't have the best layout for traffic flow. Very small negative, but if your running late it comes into consideration 😉

Pros:

Good Food, Good Service

Cons:

Review of Tusker House Lunch and Dinner Buffet

My family and I visited the Tusker House for lunch during our time at Animal Kingdom. On a prior trip we did the character breakfast which we really enjoyed, so why not try lunch. The food selection and character interaction was just as good, if not better then breakfast. There are many different options, plus some exotic items as well. Characters included Goofy, Donald, and Mickey...the big three cant be beat 😉 The only problem we had was the check in process. It was rather chaotic and it appeared the cast members were confused. Yes we went at a peak time, during peak Easter week, but no other location had problems like Tusker. If it wasn't for this mishap, I would have ranked higher...

Pros:

Food Selection

Cons:

Outside Confusion

My husband and I ate here on May 2, 2014 for dinner. He ordered a dish that was shredded chicken, onions and rice with plantains and black beans. He said it was bland and not very good. My dish was a quarter chicken, yellow rice with vegetables and plantains. The chicken had no flavor, the rice was greasy at best. The best part was the plantains. For us, we could have made the entire meal at home and it would have come out better tasting. However, our server was good and attentive.

Atmosphere, Service

My husband and I ate here on May 3, 2014 for a late breakfast/early lunch. I had the Waffle with Fresh Fruit and Nutella. I also had an Iced Coffee which was good. They are not stingy with the fruit. My husband had the Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich. He thought it was really good. We will most likely eat here again but not if we are starving because they are a little slow (there were only 2 people in front of us).

Pros:

Food

Cons:

Slow Service

My husband and I ate here on May 3, 2014 for dinner. Our server, Nate was attentive and welcoming. We had the Scotch egg for an appetizer. I loved it (he didn't but since he doesn't like eggs that is ok). We both had Guiness for our drinks. For dinner, he had the Shepard's Pie and liked it. I had Bangers and Mash. I thought it was good. This is definitely on our list of places to return and try again.

Service, Food

I ate a late lunch here by myself on May 2, 2014. I had the Vegetarian Shepards Pie. It was great. I love eating here. I like the atmosphere and everything about the place. This time however, I felt that I was rushed because I was not a "big" spender and they wanted the table for someone else.

Pros:

Atmosphere, food

Cons:

Felt rushed

Review of MagicBand

My husband and I just returned home from Walt Disney World last week after spending 4 days at Bay Lake Tower. I know my husband was skeptical of wearing the bands as he doesn't wear any kind of jewelry, including a watch. He carried his in his pocket. BUT, he really enjoyed how easy it was to use and he most certainly liked sitting in our room in the evening and planning the next day on the computer. It worked so well for us and I can't wait to go back and to it all again.

Pros:

ease of movement around Walt Disney World

Cons:

sometimes it doens't read the band and you have to keep trying.

Review of Chefs de France - Lunch/Dinner

(4 adults, mostly appetizers, one entree) Our waiter was possibly new and needed some additional training. The french onion soup was not as good as it usually is. They had raw onions in it, instead of cooked. The french onions soup at Grand Floridian Cafe is far better. Three of us ordered the soup and one order the quiche for our "entree", and three salads for our "appetizers". The soups came and the quiche didn't, then the quiche came. Then the salads came. Beverages were not re-filled without asking several times. I've been here before and it was so much better. This time I am on the fence about recommending it.

Pros:

Dessert, garden room, atmosphere

Cons:

Review of 'Ohana Best Friends Character Breakfast

'Ohana breakfast only gets an 8 for this visit, and possibly because previous breakfasts there were so much better. The food is always great and plentiful. Our server was efficient and friendly. Our seater was wonderful and engaging. Food is your basic breakfast staples plus Mickey waffles and bread. The characters sort of blew us off quickly, likely because we are adults. Stitch is my favorite and fortunately he stayed for pictures with us all. Lilo and Pluto came and went. We had to ask for pictures, while tables with kids got played with, autographs, photos etc. Time with us was under 20 seconds total. Stitch was maybe 30. Poly is a nice location, and seating is relatively right on time. The check in woman was not very magical in the least, but the view from the 2nd floor made up for it. Food was hot and fresh, and the meal was timed right.

Pros:

Lilo and Stitch, Family Style all you can eat

Cons:

can get pretty noisy

Review of Artist Point

Our waiter was Steven, who was exceptionally knowledgable about the offerings and wines. We ordered the Artisan Cheese Sampler, which was beyond wonderful. I had the game trio, husband had Korean pork loin and mom had cornish hen. All three meals were outstanding. I'm a big fan of CA Grill (haven't been since the refurbishment) and this outshines Grill any day. This is our new "go to" for special occassions. The wine list isn't huge like Grill, but the offerings were perfect. We were too full for dessert but we overheard that they were wonderful. We will certainly stop in some evening for the Artisan Cheese plate, some wine and dessert before our next dinner here. Not alocation I would recommend for kids under 12, certainly not small kids, but this is the ideal location for "date night".
($250 before tip: three entrees, one soup, one appetizer, one cocktail, two glasses of wine)

Pros:

Realtively quiet, Outstanding food, Fantastic Service, Excellent Wines, Beautiful view

Cons:

none
