Elf on the Shelf and Disney Are Collaborating for the First Time EVER

We may still be many months away from the holiday season, but there’s just been an announcement that already has us very excited for the end of this year!

The holidays in the Disney World parks are magical in a whole other way, and we love experiencing the season every single year. If you’re not able to make it to the parks, though, this year there will be a new way to bring some of that holiday Disney magic back into your own home — with Elf on the Shelf!

In an exclusive with Parade, it’s been revealed that for the first time ever, Elf on the Shelf is teaming up with Disney to bring special kits to shelves! For many years now, The Lumistella Company, the creators of Elf on the Shelf, have licensed out their own intellectual property, but they’ve never partnered with another company like this before.

The new Disney x The Elf on the Shelf will arrive this fall and will feature four major Disney franchises: Mickey Mouse & Friends, Olaf from Frozen, Disney Princesses, and Spider-Man. All of them will be reimagined through the world of the iconic Scout elves, and each set will include outfits, props, accessories, kits, and carriers, all priced between $12.95 and $25.95.

On September 15th, the collection will release on The Santa Store, but pre-orders will begin on Amazon in mid-July. The new collection will then roll out to major retailers like Target, Walmart, CVS and Michael’s shortly afterwards. Chanda Bell, the co-CEO and co-founder of the company, has said that the collaboration was inspired after seeing families personalize their elves after the characters they love. Some people have even used Elf on the Shelf to surprise kids on their Disney World vacations, so it was a natural fit.

Why did these particular Disney characters make the cut, though? Co-CEO and co-founder Christa Pitts said, “We worked closely with Disney to find just the right brands to launch our collection with, which of course had to start with the icons, Mickey and Minnie.” This is also possibly only the start, as more characters could be on the way in the future as well.
