Sometimes a cruise gets canceled. Of course, no one wants this to happen, and getting that email can feel like a punch in the gut after waiting months and months for your turn to have a relaxing vacation across the ocean.

Disney Cruise Line recently canceled a sailing on the Disney Adventure, Disney’s newest cruise ship, which departs from Singapore. What happens if this happens to you?
According to Cruise Industry News, the sailing was canceled due to a technical issue that prevented the ship from departing from Singapore. Guests were told of this after spending one night on the ship.

Disney told the guest on board, “We are truly sorry to let you know that we are unable to proceed with your Disney Adventure experience from May 7th to 11th, 2026. We fully understand how upsetting and disappointing this news is, and we realize this is not the experience you were looking forward to.”

According to the statement, passengers received a full refund of the cruise fare and any unused services, including internet. Disney is also offering a 50% disconut on a future Disney Cruise. They also received a complimentary one-night stay at the JW Marriott Singapore South Beach, which was pre-arranged. Disney also provided transportation to this hotel.

In addition, they said they will cover potential associated flight change fees, up to $500 per stateroom, and other incidentals. Before disembarking, guests were also offered free Wi-Fi to help them make new travel arrangements and contact family.

The Disney Adventure is Disney Cruise Line’s first ship to sail from Singapore, and it offers 3- or 4-night sailings. It debuted in March 2026, and when we sailed, we were completely blown away by the attention to detail throughout the ship.

We were obsessed with the characters…

…food…

…and entertainment!

While it’s not ideal, when Disney has to cancel a cruise, they try to make sure everything is covered, from your hotel for the night to traveling home. If you have any specific questions, you can always reach out to Disney Cruise Line for further information.
