Disney has ramped up construction at the former site of Jellyrolls, increasing speculation about just what’s coming to replace the popular establishment.

It’s been just over a year since the iconic dueling piano bar closed at The Boardwalk Resort, and during our most recent sojourn to the hotel, we saw tons of work going on at the site.
All evidence of Jellyrolls and its marquee has been removed…

…and the interior appears to have been completely gutted.

While Disney has yet to confirm what exactly is coming to the space officially, or even if it will be a Disney property or a third-party establishment, the extent of construction would indicate that something is coming soon, which would be a much-needed boon for the resort, especially if it’s a nightlife establishment.

It has been almost exactly a year since Jellyrolls closed at Disney; its final night of operation there was April 19, 2025. Disney has not revealed its plans for the space, which remains empty. But at the time, Jellyrolls officials said they hoped to reopen elsewhere.

While construction goes on at the site of the former Jellyrolls, work is underway on a brand new Jellyrolls just 10 minutes away from the original. According to owners J.R. Five Inc., construction has already begun on the commercial space in Lake Buena Vista. As reported by the Orlando Sentinel, the new venue will retain many of the features that made it popular at Walt Disney World, including specialty cocktails and signature popcorn.
In addition, the new Jellyrolls will remain a 21+ venue, the song list will still “forgo overly sexual or violent lyrics”, and the venue will feature free parking and offer guests the option to be dropped off and picked up right at the front door by rideshare services, another change from the business’s days at Disney World.

The new establishment, which the company says is scheduled to open later this year, will also feature more technologically advanced lighting and sound, as well as a prominent stage. According to the company’s director of operations, Amber Antel, “We wanted to give our clientele an even better experience,” she said. “We weren’t just looking for a new home, we were looking for the right home — one we intend to be in for a long time.”

Work is ongoing on both the former and future homes of Jellyrolls as the Central Florida entertainment landscape around Walt Disney World continues to evolve. Stay tuned to AllEars for more information on both of these locations.
