Not Enough People Are Using This Disney World Ride Hack

If you’re traveling to Disney World solo, or if your group is more interested in getting in ALL the rides you want than riding them all together, there’s one offering you’ve got to be taking advantage of.

Personally, I go to Disney World alone ALL the time — it’s usually the only way I travel, actually! Yes, I often get to meet up with my coworkers and have a great time all together on some trips, but if I have a day off and don’t have anything planned, you can bet I’m heading into the parks to have some fun, even if I’m alone. I’ve gotten VERY familiar with Disney World’s single rider lines, and I’ve gotta be honest — I’m REALLY surprised more people aren’t using them, because they save TONS of time.

Some people don’t realize there’s more to single rider lines than just often getting through a line quicker, but that’s not the case in EVERY line. I’m about to take you through each and every single rider line in Disney World, why I love it (or why it may not be the *best*), and additional tidbits you need to know to use it successfully!

Magic Kingdom

To start, it’s important to mention that at this time, there are NO single rider lines in Magic Kingdom, which, let’s be honest, is a huge bummer. We’ve sometimes seen Cast Members ask for single riders to go into the Lightning Lane queue over at Space Mountain, but it’s not guaranteed, and there’s no rhyme or reason to when it’s in use. I’d love to see some more added in the future, maybe to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad when it reopens, or to the new Piston Peak and Villains Land additions, but we’ll just have to wait and see!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios is actually home to the most Single Rider lines in the whole resort (great news for me, since it’s my favorite park).

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

While Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is about to undergo a refurbishment to change from Aerosmith to The Muppets, we don’t anticipate Disney getting rid of the Single Rider line at this attraction. This is the only roller coaster that goes upside down in Disney World, so it’s pretty popular.

Now, this Single Rider line isn’t always open, and that’s because out of all the Single Rider lines in the resort, this one can sometimes be the slowest if it gets too backed up. Since each row can only take two people, and each car only has four seats, it’s harder to fill Single Rider seats. If it’s closed, you’ll see the line closed off with a chain, or Cast Members will inform you it’s not active at that time.

I’ve gone through this line before and flown through it, but that’s not the case for every ride. Personally, I think it’s always a great choice to hop in line, give it 5-10 minutes (or more, just depends on what you prefer), and see how much you move. If you’re moving too slow for your liking, you can always get out of line and try again later (this is harder after the pre-show room normally, but currently, the pre-show doesn’t exist, so that makes things easier!).

Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run

The Single Rider line that NEVER lets me down is over in Galaxy’s Edge —  Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run is a fantastic Single Rider line! Each Falcon takes six riders, but I’ve often experienced that if the Cast Member can’t fill the car with the next 3-4 regular groups in line, they’ll fill those remaining seats with Single Riders.

What I mean by this is say that the next group has three people, but the group behind them has four, behind them is a group of seven, and then the group behind them is five people. Instead of continuing to go back in the regular line and having to yell, the Cast Member will just grab three people from the Single Rider line, which makes it move much faster. In fact, most of the time, I walk up to the end of this Single Rider line, and there’s either NO ONE in front of me, or only 2-3 people. 

Not to mention that the Single Rider line also misses the whole pre-show. While this isn’t great if you’ve never experienced the ride before and want to see it, if you’ve ridden it more times than you can count and you’re just trying to ride the attraction as quickly as you can, this is the way to go.

Rise of the Resistance

Also in Galaxy’s Edge, my world CHANGED when Disney announced they were testing a Rise of the Resistance Single Rider line, but since it began, I’ve never seen it go away. It’s still not *totally* official, but I have a strong feeling it’s sticking around for good and on most days.

To find the line, you’ll want to head around to the right of the entrance, actually closer to where you exit the ride. While you’ll skip the pre-show most of the time (again, saving TONS of time — it’s a super big part of the immersiveness of the ride, but I enjoy the ride plenty skipping it!), it does change. Sometimes you’ll be taken through a Cast Member hallway to get straight to the iconic Stormtrooper room, other times, you’ll be brought into the ship, go through that whole experience, then head into the special Single Rider line in the final stretch of the line, but I’ve also been taken into the FIRST pre-show room with Rey and BB8, and gone through it all.

Most of the time, I’ve experienced skipping both pre-shows, but it’s important to note that your experience may change depending on how the ride is running that day. You can always ask the Cast Member at the entrance to the Single Rider line if they can give you any information!

EPCOT

Test Track

Test Track reopened on July 22nd, 2025, and the whole team was relieved when the attraction’s Single Rider line was still in place. I’ll be the first to admit, though, that this Single Rider is a bit up in the air, and can either cut your wait time in half, or take just as long, but it’s still worth a try.

Again, my suggestion here is to hop in the line, set an amount of time that you’re willing to wait, and see how much you move during that time. The wait time at this ride is still pretty high most of the time, especially since it’s still new to many visitors, so any time you can shave off the wait is worth it, in my opinion!

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

In January of 2025, Disney surprised us by confirming that the Single Rider line at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure was sticking around for the foreseeable future, and this has TOTALLY changed how I experience this ride.

For many of us on the team, this ride is fun, but not at ALL worth the long wait times it gets. The Single Rider line at this attraction usually takes just a few minutes to get through, even when it’s a little backed up, and that’s a huge help.

The Single Rider line is located to the very far left of the entrance to the ride, and the sign on top will let you know if it’s open or not. I’ve often found that it’s rarely closed, but it CAN happen, so keep that in mind. In fact, this is the ONLY way I experience this attraction now, and it’s totally worth it, in my opinion (as long as you don’t mind splitting up from your party).

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Expedition Everest

One of the BEST Single Rider lines in Disney World by far is Expedition Everest! This is another line that can close at times, which is often when the ride isn’t busy at all, and I miss it when it’s not available, but when it’s active? It’s SO worth it.

I rarely wait more than a few minutes in this Single Rider line, which is extra interesting because it’s the same ride vehicle style as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster (two per row, four per car), and yet it somehow works much better. It could have something to do with the lower popularity of the ride, but no matter what it is, the team appreciates it greatly.
