Come With Us INSIDE Disney’s NEW Storyliving Community, Cotino (With a Tour of a REAL-LIFE ‘Incredibles’ House!)

There’s Disney World and there’s Disneyland, but did you know there’s a Disney community? Yeah, and you can actually live there!

Cotino – A Storyliving by Disney Community

Disney has officially launched its very first Storyliving by Disney community, Cotino. It is located in Rancho Mirage, California, and is a place where you can buy a house in a neighborhood completely designed by Disney Imagineers. Imagine a home with that magical Disney touch. We’ve been talking about the community for a while,  and now we’re ACTUALLY here — so that means we’re going to give you a FIRST LOOK!

We got invited to attend a media preview of the Artisan Club at Cotino, and this place was even more than we could’ve imagined. The community is filled with all sorts of amenities and beautiful sights,  including parks, trails, sand beaches, a gym, sports courts, activities, and even a building that looks like the Parr’s home in The Incredibles 2 — which, we’ve raved about!

When we got to Cotino, we had lunch at Architect’s Fork, the club’s table-service restaurant, which “takes members on a creative journey of architecture and design.”

The walls are decorated with artwork and technical concept designs from throughout Disney history. Inside, you’ll find a display of construction documents of iconic projects such as “it’s a small world” and Big Thunder Mountain, which pay homage to the hand-drawn techniques of Imagineers.

Diners here will see works by celebrated Disney artists, including Mary Blair, a hand sketch of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle by Bruce Bushman, a mockup of Disney’s Contemporary Resort by Ken Chapman, and more. Each piece was specifically hand-selected by Disney Imagineers from the Walt Disney Imagineering archives.

The walls feature mid-century architectural drawings. And if you take a closer look at the chandeliers, you will notice a really fun detail!

The chandeliers are made from pens preferred by architects. There are also subtle storytelling details throughout the space, and the designers used archival prints. Architects Fork will be open from 8 AM to 8 PM and is currently members-only.

The restaurant will offer an elevated experience with seasonal items, as well as Disney-inspired dishes like Walt’s Chili and the Brown Derby Salad. The full menu for this restaurant hasn’t been released yet, but we did get to peek at some of the food items that will be available at Cotino.

Some food options!

There definitely won’t be a lack of tasty food options at this new community.

More options!

We also visited Plot Twist, the Artisan Club’s outdoor beach bar. This spot offers guests a selection of beverages and snacks, as well as a place to relax and refresh in comfy lounge seating, taking in views of the sparkling Cotino Bay.

You may notice “book passages and sketches from historic tales that influenced classic Disney stories.” This includes things like the original Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland to Cinderella’s glass slipper. The backdrop that runs along the bar features characters and icons that will resonate with Disney fans and fairytale readers alike. While at Plot Twist, we enjoyed a few cocktails as part of a Mixology Class.

Venturing out into the community, we were so impressed by the massive man-made lake: Cotino Bay. It offers a great place to relax by the water, and the community also offers lots of recreational activities. There isn’t anything motorized, but residents can enjoy paddle boarding, peddle boats, and kayaks, with more planned for the future, like water yoga.

What a great spot to relax!

We also loved the firepits overlooking the lake. We would love an evening enjoying the fresh air by the fire pit!

This area is calling our name!

The Artisan Club also offers amenities such as a pool…

…as well as tennis courts.

There is also a fitness center and a movement studio that hosts classes like yoga and Pilates. As well as a Creative Studio, which is a multi-purpose space for programming, speakers, artists, and more.

You can join in on dancing!

Now, we are saving the best for last: The Parr House! This house is designed after the Parr family’s home in the Incredibles 2. We have gotten a few peeks inside this house, but now we get to see it in person! It is just as amazing as we were hoping.

Inside The Parr House

The Parr House is a gathering space for club events and celebrations, and provides limited overnight accommodations for club members. It is located right along the shoreline of Cotino Bay and features mid-century modern architecture.

The living room features a circular sofa, and just look at the TV!

One of our favorite spaces in the house was the kitchen. We still can’t get over the oven and fridge! It really feels like you are stepping into the Incredibles 2 movie, and we love it.

We even spotted some Fiber O’s and Sugar Bombs on a shelf in the kitchen.

We love the hidden details!

There is also a calendar that features plans such as “Violet Movie w/Tony,” “Dash Math Tutor,” “Jack-Jack Dr. Appt.” and more. The details really add so much to the Parr House.

Such fun details

There are also multiple bedrooms in the Parr House. We couldn’t complain waking up to that view!

The house looks even cooler at night with some “incredible” lighting!

If you want to live here, make sure you have some money put aside. Houses in Cotino start at the mid-$1 million mark. If you can call this Disney community home, it’ll be an experience unlike any other.

More is to come with this community, starting with the Cotino Bay Beach, Dining, and Shops. We’ll be keeping an eye on this one-of-a-kind Storyliving community. For more Disney news and updates, make sure to stay tuned to AllEars.
