Well, we’ve got some bad news for those staying at Disney World hotels in the coming weeks.

Staying on Disney property comes with many different perks, and one of those is getting access to one of Disney World’s water parks for FREE on your check-in day! Yep, you get a free park ticket! For months now, both water parks have been open at the same time (for the first time in years), allowing the crowds to be more spread out between the parks. However, that’s about to change next month — one of these water parks is CLOSING for an indeterminate amount of time, leaving only one left for at least the remainder of summer.
We took a look at the Disney World calendar, and as it turns out, starting September 8th, there are NO MORE hours being shown for Blizzard Beach. This means that the park will be closing for the season to work on normal repairs that occur in the off-season.

In fact, there are no times showing for the water park as far as the Disney World calendar currently goes, which is (at the time of writing) February 19th, 2026. While September seems like the end of the summer for many, it stays warm in Orlando through October, and a few days in November get up there in temperature, too. While the majority of crowds may not be interested in going to the water park by the end of September, we do foresee this change bringing some larger crowds to Typhoon Lagoon in September and parts of October as families take advantage of that free hotel perk.

If you’re a Disney World hotel guest and are thinking of spending your first day of your trip at the water park to take advantage of this free perk, we recommend getting to the water park as soon as you can to secure your spot. Midday will likely be pretty crowded, so we recommend taking a Disney bus instead of driving your own car (as often the parking lot will be full).
