NEW Lawsuit Claims Injuries at Disney World’s Typhoon Lagoon

Disney World is no stranger to lawsuits, but that often comes with being such a large company.

However, many of the lawsuits involve alleged incidents at theme parks, and several have been filed over alleged injuries sustained at Typhoon Lagoon, one of Disney World’s two water parks. Well, another lawsuit concerning Typhoon Lagoon was recently filed.

According to WFTV, a woman from California is suing Disney World over an incident with Typhoon Lagoon’s wave pool. In the lawsuit, the woman claims she was in the wave pool in July 2023 when a massive wave hit her and knocked her into the bottom of the pool. The lawsuit claims that this left the woman with permanent injuries. She is seeking $50,000 in damages.

This follows a 2023 lawsuit against Disney World over another alleged incident on a water slide at Typhoon Lagoon. That lawsuit claimed that the woman suffered “severe gynecological trauma” after riding the Humunga Kowabunga waterslide. The lawsuit mentions that Disney tells guests to cross their ankles on that slide, but the woman’s legs became uncrossed after she “went airborne” on the way down.

That same water slide was mentioned in a later lawsuit filed in 2024 when a woman allegedly fell unconscious after “banging inside the ride.” The lawsuit states that her body was discovered at the end of the ride by her fiancé and mother. The lawsuit claimed that the attendants on duty were not lifeguards and that they had to seek out lifeguards for help.

This new lawsuit is the third filed over the past few years concerning incidents that allegedly occurred at Typhoon Lagoon. Another lawsuit was filed in 2024 over a woman’s claim of injuries that happened after riding a waterslide at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.
