NEWS: Woman Claims Several Injuries in New Disney World Waterslide Lawsuit

Disney World is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world, but accidents and injuries can still happen — even in Fantasyland. In fact, some of these injuries have even resulted in lawsuits.

Most recently, an actor from Willow has sued the company due to an injury sustained on the show set. The company is also facing a lawsuit from Film financier TSG. Last year, a woman sued Disney over a waterslide injury sustained at Typhoon Lagoon. Now, another lawsuit concerning a waterslide injury has been filed against the company.

According to Fox 35, a Florida woman is suing Disney World after claiming that she was injured while riding a waterslide at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. The woman claims that the incident happened in June when she rode the waterslide at one of Animal Kingdom Lodge’s pools and hit the bottom of the pool, which caused several injuries.

No other details were released about the incident, but the woman stated she “suffered bodily injury” that resulted in “pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, permanent, and significant scarring, mental anguish, loss of the capacity for the enjoyment of life, expense of hospitalization, medical and nursing care and treatment, loss of earning, loss of the ability to earn money, and aggravation of a previously existing condition.”

There was also no mention of which pool the woman visited at Animal Kingdom Lodge, but the resort has two pools, both of which have waterslides. Samawati Springs Pool has a 128-foot waterslide, while Uzima Springs Pool has a 67-foot waterslide.

The woman claims that Disney World negligently failed to maintain, inspect, or repair the pool area and water slide, which created a dangerous condition for her. The lawsuit is seeking $50,000 from Disney plus interests and costs.
