This Orlando theme park could be making a splash and expanding!

The SeaWorld parent company is looking at turning its 400 acres into homes for new hotels.
SeaWorld currently owns 2,000 acres, including 400 undeveloped acres. According to the Orlando Business Journal, the company is talking about turning this area into two hotels.

Part of the project is called “Project Starboard,” a 15-story hotel with 504 rooms that will have direct access to the theme parks via an elevated walkway. It will also have a rooftop bar, multiple pools, a conference center, and a ballroom. Some of the rooms will even have views of SeaWorld’s roller coasters.

The other part is “Project Canopy,” which is set to be close to Discovery Cove. This hotel will be six stories high and have 250 rooms. This 50-acre site is currently a parking lot but could be turned into a new hotel with a restaurant, bar, pool, fitness center, and meeting space.

The parent company is currently looking at different options and partners to move forward with, but does not have any set plans. Even beyond hotels, there are talks about housing, rides, attractions, and any other options. The land is owned by SeaWorld, but the company’s CEO says, “It is in locations that are attractive to people, and there are a lot of ways you could use that land.”

Another possible option in talks is employee housing to help attract new employees, especially in a competitive area. Other theme parks like Disney World offer Cast Member housing, an additional benefit for working in the company.

Right now, nothing is officially confirmed, but the SeaWorld company is actively looking for plans for its land. We’ll be looking for new details as more is announced, and we’ll have them all for you at AllEars! Make sure you keep following for new updates.
