Hands Down. This Is the Best FREE Souvenir You Can Get in Animal Kingdom

We know not everyone will agree with us, but we think Disney’s Animal Kingdom could be Disney World’s BEST park.

Now hear us out — where else in Disney World can you combine a theme park with a zoo and get an immersive experience that will also take you to the peak of Mount Everest as well as to another planet to visit the Na’vi people of Pandora? There’s a little something for everyone in Animal Kingdom, but one of the best activities comes with a free souvenir.

Did you know you could become a Wilderness Explorer, just like Russell in Up? Well, you can in Animal, Kingdom! All you need to do is pick up a free handbook at the Wilderness Explorers booths you’ll find all over Animal Kingdom.

Once you have your handbook, you’ll want to visit badge locations throughout the park — you’ll find them with the map that’s inside the handbook. Each location will be marked as a Wilderness Explorers site. At each site, you’ll need to complete the activity on the page for that site and then find the Troop Leader (they’ll be wearing a Wilderness Explorers uniform) or Badge Guide (they’ll be wearing an orange satchel) to earn your badge (aka, a sticker to add to your handbook).

In the process, you’ll learn about nature, wildlife, and conservation. There are 24 badges to collect in all. The activity is completely free and fun for all ages!

The wilderness must be explored! Caw! Caw! Now you can be just like Russell, who you can often meet in Animal Kingdom. Maybe you can compare badges.
