It is no secret that Gen Z knows a thing or two about technology.

And now, it is hard to remember a time when you did not need your phone during a vacation at Disney World. You need to use the My Disney Experience app to book Lightning Lane selections, view wait times, place Mobile orders, and so much more.
Gen Z are those who were born between 1997 and 2012, although the exact date varies by a year or two, depending on who you ask. While some Gen Z can remember a time of flip phones, VCRs, and no social media, a majority of Gen Z was born into a time when technology was advancing to what we know today.

And here we are today: To navigate a vacation at Disney World, you need to be pretty familiar with how to use the My Disney Experience app. You will use this app before, during, and even after your vacation.

While the My Disney Experience app is a super helpful tool, Gen Z can relate to being put in charge of technology since they grew up with it. This is no different at Disney World. In most cases, the Gen Z person in the party gets stuck handling the My Disney Experience app for the day, which is a big responsibility.

Five Sneaky Tricks You Can Do with the My Disney Experience App
We are in no way saying that other generations do not know how to use the My Disney Experience app or other technology. Instead, we are acknowledging that this task is mainly given to Gen Z members of a group because they are younger and, in most cases, faster with technology because they grew up with it.

Gen Z has had to become familiar with the Virtual Queue system. If they are not the ones waking up before 7 AM to secure their boarding group, odds are they are the ones who trained the person snagging a Virtual Queue and gave them tips on how to get it.

Gen Z members of the group can also be tasked with selecting the next Lightning Lane selection while also making sure that the entire group is okay with what they chose as the next attraction.

While you are at the parks, you are going to get hungry, and of course, one of the easiest ways to make your day less stressful is utilizing Mobile Order, which is located on the My Disney Experience app. We know firsthand what it is like to be the one to take everyone’s order via Mobile Order because it is way faster than having to explain to each person how to add what they want to the cart.

The My Disney Experience app also has many cool features that are underutilized, but chances are Gen Z already knows about them.

You can locate water bottle refill stations in the park, view a digital copy of a festival passport if EPCOT is currently having a festival, view when and where characters will be meeting and greeting, and view how long a restaurant’s walk-up list is.

The list goes on and on. Even after your trip, if you utilize PhotoPass, you may use the app when you are at home to purchase and download photos.

While it may be annoying to be the Gen Z designated My Disney Experience app user for the entire party, it can help your group’s trip run smoothly.
