WARNING: Exclusive Disney World Hotel to Have Gas Outage This Week

We’ve stayed in Disney World hotels enough times to encounter a wide variety of unusual problems!

Most of the time, we have typical, uneventful hotel stays. However, every once in a while, we’ve been staying at a Disney World resort when there have been issues like water outages, fire alarms going off, or unexpected construction. And if you’re staying at one Disney World hotel in particular right now, you might want to prepare yourself for a similar issue!

We got an email from Shades of Green Resort in Disney World announcing a temporary gas outage at the hotel. This outage will happen on Wednesday, April 10th from 10AM to 2PM.

This outage may affect the hot water in the hotel rooms, as well as the food and beverage service at the resort — in particular, hot food prepared by gas equipment. During that time, Evergreens Sports Bar will serve a limited menu, and Express Cafe plans to open an hour later at 2PM, to avoid the gas outage.

The employees of the resort will be working to restore the gas as quickly as possible, but make sure to arrange your plans accordingly during those four hours on Wednesday. We recommend taking your showers earlier in the day and deciding where you’d like to eat lunch ahead of time.

Shades of Green Resort is Disney World’s military-exclusive hotel. Typically to stay here, you need to be a member of the military, related to a member of the military, or a guest of one of those groups. There are some additional people who may qualify — check the hotel’s website for the full list.
