Something NEW Has Arrived at Tiana's Bayou Adventure in Disney World!

It’s the year of Tiana, y’all!

It feels like we’ve been waiting forever for 2024 and now it’s here. 2023 brought us some fun new attractions like TRON Lightcycle / Run and Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, but 2024 is bringing an all-new ride. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is coming and we have a huge construction update!

Splash Mountain closed at Magic Kingdom and Disneyland in 2023, and Disney got right to work. We’ve been watching the construction closely, and it’s starting to look like an entirely new attraction!

Now in Disney World, there’s a new weathervane up at the attraction! We spotted it in Magic Kingdom on top of the building next to the mountain. It’s the building that riders go into after the big drop.

It’s hard to see with all of the construction, so let’s take a closer look. Now do you see it?

Even better, Disney shared a closer look and more details about the weathervane. How cool is that?

This weathervane was handcrafted by Darryl Reeves, a master blacksmith in Louisiana. Reeves’ metalwork can be seen all over New Orleans, which is why Disney asked him to create this for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

This was in the model originally displayed at the 2022 D23 Expo. Take a look near the left side of the photo on top of the building.

Disney has shared that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will pick up the story of The Princess and the Frog “after the final kiss, and join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure – featuring some of the powerful music from the film – as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance.” Tiana is hosting a Mardi Gras Party for the people of New Orleans — the community that has supported her successful restaurant. But Tiana realizes that the party is “missing a key ingredient” and she needs help finding it.

There is currently no exact opening date for the attraction in Magic Kingdom, but it is set to open in late 2024. We’ll, of course, be on the lookout for an opening date so stay tuned to AllEars!
